i really dont know if it would even do any good, but for a ST or GT turbo setup would it be possible to use the st205 intercooler or RC intercooloer.... just curious about the idea. If it is possible its a good way to be a sleeper that way people dont know you got a turbo

thanks for any info

the STs and GTs are a side feed intake manifold where the st205 have a front feed intake. For the 205 cooler to work you would need to either use a 205 intake mani or use additional piping to connect the cooler to the side of the intake.

yeah i was just wandering if its possible not really going to try it or anything. SUcks though because it would look good under the hood, since it has celica on it.

crappy part is... your looking to spend about 600-800 when all is said and done for that setup just on a 3sgte. on a 5s, it really wouldnt work right. so your better off with a dsm side mount ic or a painted fmic.... a remember even with a fmic showing, no one expects a celica to be fast, so it will always be a sleeper in a way smile.gif

you'd also need a gt4 hood to accomodate for the extra space by the tmic.

a 3rd gen 3s with the TMIC fits (barely) with the stock (non st205) hood wink.gif

jeff had a RC TMIC, it is a bit smaller than the 205 wink.gif

yes, but that is on a 3sgte, which i believe sets a little lower. it would come more working on the 5sfte than a 7afte. i know there'd be no room for a 7afte to have a TMIC, but i don't know how the 5s sits in there.

but all the other options are your best bet. FMIC painted black. looks just like a radiator or condenser.

The whole point of the IC is to get a ton of cold air going through it to cool the intake air... Moving it to anywhere other than the front is making it less efficient surely?
I would much rather see a nice intercooler at the front than hidden in the engine bay!

the RC and 205 are water to air ICs. they are actaully more efficent than FMICs. They are rated up to about 400hp I believe.
