QUOTE(6th_celi_vert @ Jul 28, 2006 - 7:02 AM) Its not that i wanna lose weight though. I just want to pack on muscle. Ive pretty much lost all the weight that i can without looking too skinny. Since you live in the US you can also try this free website: myfoodpyramid.gov and mypyramidtracker.gov to keep track of what you eat and how much you excercise to keep your nutrition and workouts balanced... also, if you're focusing on packing on muscle, your workouts should be focused more on strength training, not cardio. I learned this the hard way when did strength training while trying to get leaner, and I bulked up in no time and looked like a guy almost (I'm not a guy! ![]() What you do is get to a gym and lift weights, and instead of doing more reps/sets, you just add more and more weight. (If you add more reps/sets but keep the same generally low weights, you will develop a more toned, leaner look.) It all has to do with how musles tear (good tears!) Heavy weights tear hard and rough, so the rebuilt muscle becomes huge...otherwise, the muscle heals more smoothly and with more definition... PM me if you have questions, I can go on and on about this, I work out a lot ![]() -------------------- ![]() "I bet you drive a standard." "You could make some money off that bet." :D |

If you want more muscle on your arms work the do bicep curls and tricep extensions, more muscular legs do squats and presses, etc. Again, try to increase weight slowly every other time you work out. If after 10 reps you feel like you can do more, you should have used more weight. Don't "just keep going," it'll give you the lean musclues, if you want big guns you need to lift big weights, even if its for les reps. ope this helps ![]() -------------------- ![]() "I bet you drive a standard." If you don't have the money/time to go to the gym, try buying some weights from KMart so you can do quick workouts at home or in your dorm during your free time. If possible, look for dumbells and barbells that you can adjust the weight on, so that you can increase the weight every other workout or so until you reach your max weight. Workouts to get buff don't have to be long, because you can actually add so much weight that you're only doing 3-4 reps of the heavyest weight you can handle.
It's the toning workouts that take long, because those invovle endurance training...like 4 sets of 15 reps with less weight. But that's not for getting buff, that's more for the ladies that want to get that nice, lean, overall athletic look that we see on hydroxycut commercials... that's all advice for muscle building...if you want to reduce bodyfat, I again really recommend myfoodpyramid.gov and mypyramidtracker.gov to leep track of your caloric intake and expediture, and a little cardio eac day always helps...even if it's just a good long walk... -------------------- ![]() "I bet you drive a standard." Its all about your diet and eating right.
I have switched to eating 6 smaller meals a day of proper healthy food. I am following the Abs Diet, from the editor of MensHealth magazine and I have lost over 60 pounds in 7 months. I really am doing nothing when it comes to exercise, basically all in diet. I have completely sped up my metabolism. I used to think nothing was possible, then I tried the Abs Diet. I am now in better shape then I was in high school when I was playing on numerous sports teams. -------------------- |
