Hey, guys...just wanted to post some "before" pictures of the interior of the Celi I just bought so that when I get it all reopholstered we can all compare the difference
also...I'm posting some close-ups of the broken driver seat hinge. If anyone knows how on earth to fix that, or where I can start looking to fix it, please let me know. Otherwise, I'm just going to buy a new seat. Thanks! -------------------- "I bet you drive a standard." "You could make some money off that bet." :D |

DUDE what the hell has happened to that?
If the interior is in such bad shape, then I guess the rest of the car is fairly knackered too? Engine probably had alot of stick, looks like its done about 500,000 miles! |

do you have a drivers airbag? it looks like the airbag cover has been broken. the rest of it can be replaced easily but if you dont have airbags that means your airbag sensors went off and need replacing. airbags are a good $600-700 each, id have to look up the sensors later
good luck -------------------- |

My guess with the seat is that the guy was probably making people squeeze into the back of the car without getting out and pulling the seat up. He also had kids, maybe they hung on it or something....
For the rest of the car, I can't tell you. I can tell you that this island is INSANELY hot, and maybe the heat did some work. The kids may not have improved the situation, either. The guy was using it as a family car for a while, and you know what that can do to any vehicle... The car was in an accident so both airbags did go off....but it looks like they've been replaced and the steering wheel cover just wasn't replaced, too. I don't know, I haven't had a chance to really look the whole thing over yet. Exterior pics can be found here: http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=39585 not too bad, but not perfect. I'm glad that I'm selling my other car so I have some money to do some work -------------------- "I bet you drive a standard." "You could make some money off that bet." :D |

i'm thinking the owner had dogs, which caused the seat hinge to break from putting it in and out of the car. it's claws must have torn the center console lid like that.

I guess it's a possibility...but they would have had to do an awesome job of cleaning becuse I don't smell any dog or see any dog hair or whatnot...
...of course my boyfriend never knew that his car had been previosuly owned by a dog owner unti lhe took the center console out to paint and found dug hair underneath it... -------------------- "I bet you drive a standard." "You could make some money off that bet." :D |

So yeah, the airbags are gone...I have to go find at least a new stering wheel, I think I can deal without a passenger airbag for now since I usualy drive alone...
My boyfriend dropped that destroyed CT cover off to an upholstery guy he knows, so I get to pick it up during my lunch hour. I'll try to post pics before I turn in tonight -------------------- "I bet you drive a standard." "You could make some money off that bet." :D |

Aight, step one of upholstery done! Picked it up today, got home and the weather tried to stop me
(view out of bedroom window): but I got in before the rain and took the pic. I think it looks great: next up are these disgusting seats: and I still gotta find a new steering wheel: -------------------- "I bet you drive a standard." "You could make some money off that bet." :D |

you dont need the whole steering wheel. that center part comes right out and the new airbag should come with a new center section

to replace your airbags your gonna need the 2 airbags, the 2 front crash sensors, and the center airbag control unit. i think defgeph had an entire set of the stuff for 300$ a while back when i asked him, he never posted a FS thread so he might still have it layign around.

The CF cover cost only 30 bucks...the guy says it'll be 200 to re-do each seat in leather, and that includes materials and labor...I think it's a cool deal, especially since my boyfriend who owes me 700 bucks is just going to pay for the seats so that he only owes me 300...lol...then he's gonna give me two 12's and knock off another 150 from what he owes me. Is he good or what? Dang. Ugh, that sounds like a lot of stuff My main concern is the aesthetics, lol...my last car didn't have airbags, period...it never came with any. I know it's better to have them...so I guess I can ask defgeph and when my next paycheck comes in...yeah... I shortly considered just getting a nicer steering wheel (bride? is that what they call them?) off ebay or somethin...but I've read about people having issues with their signals and stuff like that after putting them in. Should I bother looking for one? -------------------- "I bet you drive a standard." "You could make some money off that bet." :D |

for the driver side's door panel trim, all you have to do is apply some adhesive behind it and tuck it back in and its good as new again
