 KYB instillation problem, can't get new inserts in |

Hey,
I was trying to get my new kyb inserts installed last night. I was trying to get the front ones in. I was able to get the entire assembly out, and was able to pull the old shocks out. When I put the new kybs in, the ring that goes over the top which secures the insert into the assembly won't screw back down. The ring is about 1/2 inch to high to fit back in. Is there another piece I need? Is there something I'm missing? I checked at the bottom of the assembly, and I don't see anything more that comes out. Any ideas? Help!

don't the new inserts come with a new screw ring ? maybe try them both and see which one works ?

odd. mine came with new rings but I was not able to screw them in the thread was diff i think, I used the original onces just fine. I still have the new rings mine came with, you can have em if you want, no garentee they will work though. I'll get a pic of them posted tonight, they could be just fine and I was just doing something wrong when trying to screw em down.

Got the parts in. KYB customer service is awesome. They sent me the stuff I needed totally for free, and they got in in 3 days.
The pieces were exactly what I needed. I now have the new spring and struts in my car and they look great! I'll post pics sometime in the next few weeks when I get the chance. Thanks for all the help everyone. -------------------- psalm 69 |
