:embarrassed:

i am so sorry f i come off as a pompous arse...i feel like one now. i was only looking at it from a "who's going to end up with the short end this time" point of view. LEGALLY - you can't enter the intersection unless you can do so without stopping, PRACTICALLY - we "all" do it (even me, although i know i shouldn't) . To hear that it's being taught in DE--kinda scares me. Just my age showing i guess. Hope all ends well with this, saleeka. I wasn't trying to teach you anything just getting you ready for possible bad news. Someone get a rolled up newspaper and swat me on the nose, i've been a bad dog.

i know i'm not making any friends here but...when waiting for the intersection to clear while turning left YOU MUST STAY BEHIND THE STOP LINE!!!! so friggin' what if you miss a light. safety and courtesy must prevail. i'm no angel-- i speed, i play my ICE too loud, i have even been known to indulge behind the wheel (never drink though) but i will never enter an intersection without the right of way. TOO MANY IDIOTS THAT DON'T KNOW HOW TO DRIVE AND YIELD TO OTHERS. now i feel much better thank you.

out here in manitoba we were taught in drivers ed to go into the intersection and if we couldn't make it on the green, to complete our turn was it was yellow/red.

Update-

so i got a copy of the police report today, and it's pretty much what i suspected it would be.

"on 8-1-06 at 1658 hours I was dispatched to the location of 80th st and east point douglas rd on report of a crash with no injuries. upon arrival i spoke with driver of unit 1 (my car), later id'd by mn dl as Chris irber. Irber advised me he was traveling e/b on 80th st waiting to make a left hand turn onto east point douglas rd. irber stated the light was green as he was waiting in the middle of the intersection to make his left hand turn. Irber advised me the light then turned yellow. irber stated he saw unit 2coming w/b on 80th st and though the vehicle was going to stop. both vehicles then collided in the intersection. severe damage to right front damage of unit 1. no injuries.

I then spoke with the driver of unit 2, who was later verbally id'd as T.D. D advised me he did not have a drivers license and that he was revoked. The owner of the vehicle, and also the passenger, advised me that she did not have insurance on the vehicle. D as well as the passenger both stated to me that they were traveling w/b on 80th st. D stated he ran the red light causing him to hit unit 1. driver was issued citation for DAR and owner of vehicle issued citation for No insurance. vehicle was towed to owners residence here in CG. Severe damage no left front of vehicle. No injuries.

N/F. Case closed."

So I feel better about not getting totally screwed over in this situation, now that the the police report explains the situation truthfully smile.gif Hopefully I'll get my deductible back too, with a bit of luck. now to get the accord fixed... If I get a chance i'll post up pics of the damage in the next day or two...
