WHat do you guys use to wax/ polish your cars? What seems to work best? There are so many items out there, and the guy at discount auto parts was a jackass. Thanks

Ive used that Nu-Finish stuff on my car.....its works pretty good, only i get the idea that its really abrasive, so im gonna start using either Meguiars or Mothers wax.....my friends dad has a 69 Camaro and he uses Meguiars stuff on it, and it looks amazing, so i think i might go that route next time i wax.

If your paint is looking old, try using a clay bar. After that I like Eagle One Wet Look. It's a polish/wax, so I wouldn't recomend it all the time, but if you only wax every 6-9 months then you shouldn't have any problems. In between I normally use Meguairs Gold Class, it doesn't have polish in it, so it won't revive a dull finish, but it will build the wax back up.

Meguiars!!!! I wax mine about once a month. THe more time you spend on it, the more work you put it, the better it will work. Wax is an abrasive, so to get the pull effect, polish hard. I've heard some bad things about the "wax & wash" things, but go for it. A good wax job will take 2 hours or so.

Wax is not an abrasive. Wax is a buildup over the existing paint to keep the appearence up. Polish is the abrasive. Cleaner wax contains polish to improve the appearence of the paint before you wax it and seal the look in. |

Whatever you do, don't use Meguiar's Quik Wax... the spray-on.
IT SUCKS and you'll never get it off |

ok, people, I tried everything... but sadly and in all honesty, nothing really last. it doesnt matter what wax I use.. I get the same crap stuck to my paint after a month of so.. and if I were to wax again I would clay bar the crap out which removes the wax at the same time so I would have to wax all over again..
so my philosophy now is to.. choose the wax that is the easiest to put on and wipe off. so I use liquid glass.. does it get my car REALLY shiny??? it shines as good as the meguiar's stuff. but since I have a white car (as opposed to say a black one) the difference, if there is a difference, is never that apparent anyway.. and since I have a white car I dont worry about swirl marks so I dont need to worry about getting swirl marker reducer/remover or whatever so its just liquid glass and nothing else.. |

Has anyone tried the P21S wax???
Saw an ad about it in SCC today and just wondered. Only read the ad because it had a McLaren F1 on it. |
