Hi folks, I have one non-english-native member question biggrin.gif. What is "retainer" in the car? My dictionary sayed:
1. reserve
2. authorization form
3. box
4. snap ring
5. reservoir
6. gripper
7. contract
8. holder
9. menials
10. adherent

one better that other... need explanation, or better picture wink.gif. Thank you...

It is just some kind of mount. In general, retainer is something which holds something else in place.
You can use THIS DICTIONARY.

i believe it does the same as a grommet.
it's used to screw something through it and acts like a clamp or bolt to tighten the other side of whatever it is you're screwing through.
