i think that the st engines are really good, people say that they really suck, (power wise) but actually there really not bad Its pretty decent i must say i love the gas mileage and everything really impressed. It catches speed pretty quick. I don't race though just to let you guys know but im just saying that im really glad that i chose to buy this celica off of a 1992 BMW 525i or a 4x4 toyota pickup

hey man you gotta do some searching. There isnt to many bolt on upgrades that will make the 7afe faster, although some things can be done to make throttle response better. Anything less than a rebulit engine with stronger rods and a turbo is pissing in the wind.

N/A power is not there for the 7afe
you can do a turbo kit for around $1500 which will get you to 150whp to 180whp depending on parts you use ive done the basic n/a upgrades exhaust cold air intake timing adjust nitrious the 2nd step i went to and turbo kit on the stock 7afe worked well but high boost takes a toll on the valves low 6-8 psi daily worked fine and then there is the head swaps and full rebuilds power can go clear up to 400 right now my set up is at 312whp or 370 horse to the crank on the 7agte -------------------- yea your 3sgte is cool but ill stick to my 7agte

QUOTE(celica47 @ Aug 11, 2006 - 11:20 AM) Anything less than a rebulit engine with stronger rods and a turbo is pissing in the wind. to resist is to piss in the wind anyone who does will end up smelling its not like in order to enjoy your car you need 300+ hp, however, it would almost be impossible not to enjoy a celica with 300+ hp... i'm not overly satisfied with my engine but i do know that in order to realize more of my car's handling potential i would need higher hp to reinforce it... and i do enjoy the 7AFE's mileage -------------------- |
