During the course of drying the windows the car ends up dry without you touching the body panels. I just got done doing the first part of an initial Zaino Show Car Polish application to the Celi.....the Wash with Dawn, claybar the car, wash with dawn steps. Taking a break now before I go mix the swirl reducer polish and put a couple of coats on, then one coat of the final polish.
If you want pics.......you'll have to wait! muahahahahahaha..........ha ha ha........ha......hooooooooooo This evening pics will be posted. I must say that for a 99, the paint is in pretty good shape all things considered (location, mileage). This post has been edited by Fastbird: Aug 12, 2006 - 6:37 PM -------------------- |

ya we need pics! ha, but a '99 isnt even close to being old so the paint should still be pretty decent.

Ok, here come the pics. Now mind you, it may not seem like much of a difference in pictures, but it's a phenemonal difference in person where you can touch and feel the finish and actually walk around the car. I tried to capture some various reflections in the car too. I think what we're going to end up doing is either a full repaint when we get the splitters or at least have the nose redone and I'll wetsand/polish the car to a glass finish. Anyway..........Here's pictures!!!!
Check the for sale sign reflection: Check my reflection!!! And my favorite shot. This one managed to capture the depth that Zaino brings out of your paint. I HIGHLY recommend checking Zaino out. It's a PITA at first, but extremely easy maintenance after the initial application and is extremely durable. I won't HAVE to wax the Celica again until next spring, but most likely will add additional coats to increase the looks (Zaino layers, and looks deeper with each coat). -------------------- |

Absolutely gorgeous!
You need a 94-95 wing and OEM rear extensions and that would compete for one of the cleanest exteriors on this site. (you would also have to ditch all those parking pass stickers on the front windshield) -------------------- QUOTE(lagos @ Jul 10, 2006 - 1:55 PM) i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this. |

I wish my red was as shiney as that. Just need clear corners and side markers, and to remove those little rock/mud flaps, and like i said before the ss-III front and rears as im sure you remember.

Yes, that is a tire. I actually had 4 wheels and tires in the car when these were taken, 4 BIG ones. They're my new vette shoes -- 275/35-18 and 295-35-18 GSD3's and 18x9.5 and 18x10.5 wheels.
No spoilers for this car. LOVE the spoilerless look, save for Doggy's Ducktail which is an unfortunate unavailability. Splitters are planned as well as clears.....trying to figure out a clear foglight too. There's only 1 set of stickers on the front windshield -- My McGuire AFB stickers. Gotta have those. The other two above are PA inspection stickers, although I could take out the emissions one. Thanks for the feedback everyone!! If anyone's interested.....www.zainobros.com is the website for the polish. *Edit* Just so you guys know, the paint isn't as good as the pics tell. There's a lot of minor surface scratches (pretty much entire car, which is why I'd like to do a random orbital buff job or even better wet sand the car) and a lot of chips and dings. The nose has some pretty bad peeling too. It just cleans up well. This post has been edited by Fastbird: Aug 12, 2006 - 7:36 PM -------------------- |

Wow. I don't think anyone need a mirror with that thing around. I wouldn't mind eating off of it.

Nice job! I use Zaino too - it makes my white '96 look great. Highly recommended, but it is kind of a pain in the butt to do all the steps. Lasts forever, too - not like carnauba. The interesting thing is that they say on their site that you can wax in the sun and heat. I didn't have the guts to actually try it, but they say you can because it's not a carnauba product.

Samantha All three of our cars (the running ones) have Zaino, and all were done in the sun in my driveway. Claybarring a hot surface is a PITA, but the Zaino part you just have to move a little more quickly when spreading it on the surface. Plus, the heat helps it dry faster. -------------------- |
