I got my magnaflow muffler installed lately and asked the guy about custom exhausts. He asked what I wanted but I didn't know lol. So if i were to get one, what should i ask for? Also, since i only have an auto, is it worth it. This is reputedly a very good shop and seems pretty inexpensive. Thanks guys. How much would a custom exhaust normally cost?

I got my 2.5 inch cat back done for $160.00. Mine is an auto too. I dont plan on racing my car or anything but I do want more power out of it. I definately think it was worth it. I would go with the 2.5 though. Youll love the way it sounds.

i got 2.25" cat. back on my 7AFE which most people say is just right for a N/A 4 cylinder... not saying 2.5" is too big, but 2.25" is just as good if you are staying naturally aspirated

i got my cat. back system for $210 but my muffler was $170 so $40 for just the exhaust piping from the catalytic converter back

felt a diff. in higher rpm, not like OMG!!! but it felt more responsive smile.gif

i heard that installing the piping under the axle is the best way to go.

yeah it is the most free flowing becuase it uses the least amount of bends. This is especially important if you are running turbo wink.gif

^ woot to that. I'm dropped, big time and i went under axle 2.75 in. piping and i have yet to scrape. oh ya, and im on 15' in. factory rims. So im damn low. Only reason i went with a 2.75 pipe, straight pipe, both cats removed is cause im swapping next summer, and i need good flow. under axle, i have about 3 small bends in the whole pipe.
