when I installed my wheels the guy at the shop put the nuts in such a nice way that messed up the bolts, so now I need to change them the problem is that one of the bolts is turning with the nuts so I would like to know if some of you have any experience on this and if you know any trick, I don't wanna damage my wheel during this process.

If the lugnut is turning with the bolt, then it broke. just remove the bolt and pray the none of the others are damaged. i have been riding with 4 bolts and haven't had any problems. i believe you'll need your wheel hub replaced if you want all 5 or you can see if a shop will be able to press another bolt into your hub. this happened to me before. lol.

they stripped the stud in the hub, take it back and make THEM fix it. this is caused by using an impact wrench to tighten your lugnuts down, which is horrible! after they fix it never go back to that shop.

I went back to them and they said they'll fix it but they don't wanna be responsible for the wheel. they said their policy doesn't compesate for aftermarket parts which is BS cause they installed it, but if I can take it out myself I'll do it cause I don't want them to ruin my wheel. and in order for me to force them to pay for it I would have to go to court and I don't have the time needed for that.

just feel like burning the F****ing place down.

Um no?

Well, sorta.
If they did it, they should be the ones fixing it.
But I highly doubt a impact stripped the teeth [I'm not talking about the threads, I'm talking about the teeth that lock the stud to the hub].

I have NEVER seen an impact do that. I have seen guys hammer away with an impact til the nut won't turn at all [I dont' do this]. I've seen steel wheels with the steel around where the nut seats almost cut away from repeated abuse, but I've never seen the teeth stripped from an impact.

and ive seen a good strong impact strip them. its usually not the 'teeth' that strip, but the metal the surround the 'teeth' in the hub, since that steel is softer than the stud.

and the shop is resposible, if they wont fix it then get it fixed and have your laywer deliever the bill to them.

If they install aftermarket parts, then they ARE responsible for any damages incurred during the installation. Small Claims Court 4tw.

my friend and I got it out without major damage to the wheel and my friend sent the bill to them, he's charging them for the wheel hub and hub studs, so we'll se their response. I pay a lawyer insurance at my job, so doesn't cost me anything to send a lawyer to court. smile.gif
