the reason the rev limiter didnt do anything is this

it is meant to prevent the engine from accelerating itself past a certain RPM, it has no control over how the gearing in the transmission can accelerate the engine if you miss shift. the ECU cut all fuel out shortly after you passed the hard limiter, but the momentum and gears forced the rev's up.

make sense to me, thanks for the explanation.

yea..thing is, i ran 14.1 @ 102 a couple months ago on street tires doing exactly as you discribe. wheelhop galore. kinda pissed me off
