SOB! My new shift knob doesnt line up right..., ...and how to fix it Options

Well, if anyone else here is like me and bought an aftermarket shift knob that when tight doesnt have the gear #'s in the correct position, fret not. Don't bother returning it, after all you bought it cause you liked it, so make it work. Heres what I did. I took 2 receipts (any paper will work) folded each up into squares just a tad bigger that the hole where the knob meets the shifter, I made sure they were only about 4 layers of paper (just rip it off the receipt) before i took a pen and jammed it all the way to the end, make sure you get it as close to the end as possible. Then I screwed the knob back on....still didnt line up right, but it was getting better. Basically just keep adding paper little by little until it gets just right for your liking....even if you put too much paper in there, get out the ol' needlenose pliers and pluck them out. So basically 10 minutes of work to make it fit instead of paying shipping to ship it back, then another S&H charge for a new one that lines up, the choice is yours

I just had to take off my shift knob and put it back on to work on my Celi, and my weak a** hands can't turn it all the way back, I need to find a good sized wrench now....lol
