laugh.gif ...yea so...went up to new england dragway, and.."ohh boy..its fun ford weekend" needless to say there were litterally HUNDEREDS of mustangs.
we only got 4 runs in total (2 for me, 2 for the wife) i never got a clean run in...first run i missed 5th gear, and ran 14.3
the 2nd run...i was so on the chip about waiting 2hrs to get a run in, i shifted from 3rd to 2nd...
needless to say, the car did NOT like it...lmao

i thought there was a hard limiter on this thing?!?!?!? laugh.gif

silly manny, this aint no 4ag! lol. theres a video around here somewhere of an rsx doing that. it was kinda funny to see the driver's reaction to it.

yea...it was kinda funny...looking back now anyway..
i can honestly say ive never been "scared" racing the celica...till then...i got outta the car, after the run, and my hands were litterally shaking...lol

yea, it sucked mig. lol
yea, i ran the DR's..just wish i could get more than 2 runs in.
ill be going back on a wensday, when its not nearly as busy...i got my first run @ ~7:30pm, and didnt get my 2nd in till 10. not exactly good for trying to learn. by the time i got my 2nd run in, i had forgotten everything i did on the 1st. i need to start keeping notes or somthing...lol

that 5sfe is a champ!

on a side note. i never knew the safc can peak hold your rpm's, knock and boost. thats pretty cool. 13psi! woot!

How did it sound?

I once saw 98xxRPM on the peak-hold of my turbo timer - but that was a glitch - or I think my motor wouldn't be running anymore...

I've noticed a couple times that my limiter won't kick in when racing. I've hit about 7000 on accedent before. Good job with those times.

yup, its got some decent features for what it is...its all just very basic.
i just wish i had free acsess to dynotime...the more i mess with it, the more i learn... wink.gif

yea, its crazy that the limiter reacts that slowly..idk..lmao..im just glad nothing broke..
as far as the time i ran, im really not happy at all with it.
with only getting 2 runs, and having mistakes in both of them, and launching too low on the DR's, times were not at all what i was hoping for, but eh, thats how it goes sometimes...
i didnt know when we decided to go up there that it was gonna be "fun ford weekend". apparently its a huge yearly event that people come from all over the country for.
the track was well preped (compared to island dragway, the only other track ive been to before.. laugh.gif ) i just didnt get enough runs in to take advantage of it..
i just plain and simple need more practice.
jenn and i are planning on going up on a wensday for a street night sometime soon, from what i heard from some of the guys i talked to, there is not nearly the amount of cars, so we should be able to get a decent amount of runs in.

hell yes.

to be honest, all i can remember is yelling out loud.. "OOOOHHH SH8T!!!"..and a few other choice words as i reacted to what i did.
i have a video of the run, ill upload that and the other run a little later on.

heres my previous run, if you listen closely you can hear me miss the shift to 5th, just as the car goes by the camara. you can hear the BOV go off twice...and i still beat the mustang in the other lane., and ran a 14.3 wink.gif

the reason the rev limiter didnt do anything is this

it is meant to prevent the engine from accelerating itself past a certain RPM, it has no control over how the gearing in the transmission can accelerate the engine if you miss shift. the ECU cut all fuel out shortly after you passed the hard limiter, but the momentum and gears forced the rev's up.
