Intercooler Options

I'm looking for a intercooler for my 3sgte swap anyone recommend anything? I have 700$

pshh if you have 700$ on just an intercooler get a SPEARCO its the best one out there IMO and flows better then greddy!

i have a spearco ... seems to work well for me. it was only about 300 on ebay.

my next intercooler. One sided to keep the intercooling pipes away from the hot side of the exhaust / manifold and should make for a better more efficientt route. bar and plate

i doubt one brands Bar and plate cools more than another brand so.
i mean how can you screw up sheets of folded aluminum.
under $200 for it also.

why would you want a one sided one? its going to be tricky as hell to route the piping all to one side.

if you want to keep your piping cool from the exhaust manifold, just use some heat wrap.

didn't you ever read the thing on MR2oc about heat wrap...its bad from wat i gathered...

one sided is the way i'm going to go to john its a great idea and the pipes are actually really easy to run...

sweet. yeah the pipes wont be an issue im also relocating the bat to the trunk

heat wrap isint good or bad. its all in how or where you use it.

i still dont understand the point of going to a one sided setup. if your looking for something clean and short, clock the trubo, then go from the turbo to the drivers side down, and from the throttle body to the passengers side. it would be a clean and simple setup.

yea, but, doing it that way, your really not shortening the piping at all.

yeah but, neither would having the piping all run to one side.

you don't even need to relocate the battery just run the pipe up the fender in the same path as your stock intake
(i also plan for the 1 sided IC and piping run through the fender for reasons 1) cleanness of engine bay(including clocked turbo) and 2) side feed intake manifold)

heat wrap isint good or bad. its all in how or where you use it.

ah, finally, someone who understands, you should talk to the guy in the other thread who wants to heat wrap his headers

consider getting water-air IC, beefy pump, monster heat exhanger and 3-4 gallon tank. Less piping than any FMIC and possibly better efficiency... heat shield it if necessary, mix up your water wetter and your good to go

You can ask for the GReddy Spec-M Intercooler (New 2-Layer Intercooler by Greddy).You can buy the Kit for the Nissan S15 which is the cheaper (beacuse its including just few pipes in the kit) and go for custom piping using that core.Average price for that kit i think its around 50,000Yen.

quicker spool, cleaner engine bay, more oem.

**** the crash bar , i dont plan on crashing. its only a 5mph bar that thing is light weight.
