I was EXACTLY the same as you. I then went to Engineering, but could not do the classes, so I'm now in business and almost done.

if you like coding but want to get out of your major, perhaps look into majoring in Computer engineering (sort of like CS but more hardware focused), MIS (management information systems, like a business degree with a CS focus), Math (many universities have both a pure math and a computer based math degree programs)...

and dont think you have to complete a degree in any period of time. If it takes longer because you want to switch and do something you actually want to do, then so what if it takes longer. Never think its too late to do anything.

#1: Good idea. I had to take MIS as a required Business course, and I DID enjoy that.

#2: Since I'm on my 3rd major, Entrepreneurship (sp?), I'm did 5 years, and have 2 classes left. All the college wants is your money, haha. So year, do what you want, and you'll be MUCH better off in the long run. smile.gif

It's all about the English majors, man, lol...

all we do is rant about our opinions on paper and get A's for it, heehee...

These guys have got some good suggestions, seriously. Talk it over with an advisor or someone in the department, you'll figure something out...no school wants their students in a major they don't enjoy...

my .02 would be Electrical or Computer engineering. I'm a freshman/sophomore ECE student right now and I love it. There is some coding and programming, but a lot more hardware focused. Good stuff.

Right now about to get my Associates in General Studies. Weak but hey its a degree. Once I transfer it will be Business Administration with a concentration on Management or Advertising. I plan on getting a good job and eventually opening up a detailing business.

advisors are where it is at. Im going to be a junior (started in compsci), but now i want a EE degree too cause coding is boring sometimes so hardware is also in the game. just try to make friends in the same major your going for and dont be shy to ask for their help, i have two mechanical engineering roomies and they took all those core engineering courses that most people cant pass, they slacked off and both have 4.0's so when i think about how easy they got it i ask them for some help and then i get most things pretty easily. keep getting info from everyone and use it to your advantage.

Ah, life is hard.

-You can live the life of a computer hermit who sits at the desk and type all day and night.
-The Engineer who has to run around doing this and that, this and that, and finally Ah 5hit I forgot to do this and that.
-The Teacher who everyone wants to hate.
-The Businessmen who could never keep track of time, "doh?"
Or you can be a BUM who wears.. "Thommy Hell'figer for the pour"

Advisors are useless people who just wants to get rid of you in there office as soon as possible. If you really want to know what people do in there career I suggest you go and watch them do there work. Man I work with an electrical engineer and he seems like he has the 5hitties job in the whole work place even tho he is da BOSS. He runs around fixing things left and right, doing paper work stacks high, helping workers. I always imagined that an engineer would sit at a desk and do something really neat like "fly!", but H3LL NO!

LIFE just Really sucks! My advice is to think outside the box for once......
