ive been looking for a celica for about 6 months now.. and i haven't found any 6 gen GT HB's for sale under 6k. i just am wondering why they are so hard to find!it really gets annoying.there was one for sale close by i went to look and they sold it but never updated the site!. im looking at one about 250 miles away on friday.hopefully i will be able to get a deal that day. anyone wanna give me some tips on buying a used celica? like what i should look for? aside from what i would look for on any other car?. whats a problem thats unique to the celica? thanks much!

haha, i wanna go to cyprus. anywho, one of the reasons why i love my car so much is cuz its on the rare side. its not very often i see a celica, especially one that's not all old and crappy looking. good luck finding one.

apparently cyprus is filled with a bunch of speed freaks with really good taste in cars and a lot of money to drop into their good taste in cars. At least thats what i have gleaned from Tufys last few posts. Buuuuuut, sh*t! I anit complaining, other then the fact that it sucks to be a 6th gen enthusiast in America!

Up here in Canada, they are waaaaaaaaay harder to find. And when you do, they are the 10K mark...for a stock...

Man keep in touch with me! I'm getting a work van soon from my job, then I'm either turboing my Celica or selling it! 147k miles, and is mechanically perfect. Check my threads in general to see pics of her.

its a love hate thing we owners love them cause its rare but we hate the lack of aftermarket parts for it.... yeah and it was hard to find when i found my car selling for $4k i jumped on it right away ....lol i wanted a gt but hey a manual ST is good on gas lol besides i'm not into racing on the streets and those damn corolla motors can last for a very long time

It's very sad everytime I drive on San Gabriel Blvd, I always see this one beat-up GT parked on the street.... god damn it, hate it when people don't take care of their Celica.

The only ones I ever see around where I live are either beat to hell, or driven by the elderly! I've seen like, 2 5th gens, and a handful of 4th gens too! 7th gens, well, we're not gonna go there.

I think they are easy to find. The only thing is will the owner sell it?

cars.kbb.com
autoextra.com autotrader.com thebiglot.com carmax.com check em all out. especially autoextra.com. i think it's the same deal for any used car. if you buy from a dealer, be sure to take it to mechanic on the test drive. check car-fax for airbag deployment (i wasn't able to investigate the accident my car had been in, but the airbag didn't deploy so it wasn't soo bad). my mechanic said there was no frame damage and no rust, but i had original fan belts and thus, probably an original timing belt at 95k miles. |

back to the original topic, i think there are very few numbers of 6gc because the MSRP when they first came out at 94 were very high. my guess is that sales since 94 dropped more and more which results in the fewer amounts until the new facelift 96 came out.. then died down again until 99.
