QUOTE(easternpiro1 @ Aug 30, 2006 - 12:11 AM) 3sgte link WELL WELL WELL...look what i found...its interesting.... thanks phattyduck i guess most of the things will fit hopefully, but still it is a big risk involved...the motor should be in soon what do u guys think about that link? I think it's silly to make an issue about the ST215 3SGTE not being the 4th gen. I mean, the ST165 has the 1st gen, the ST185 has the 2nd gen, the ST205 has the 3rd gen, and the ST215 has the 4th gen. Each engine is by and large the same, but there are differences between each of them. The 4th gen has a LARGE air/air intercooler, coil on plug ignition, it's OBD2, side-feed intake manifold, one piece exhaust manifold/turbine housing, makes a different hp rating, etc. There are enough differences to classify it as a new generation, I don't see why it shouldn't be known as the 4th Gen. -Doc -------------------- -Dr Tweak, 6GC's resident engine swap wiring expert extraordinaire Click here to see my swaps drtweak@phoenixtuning.com |

I'm currently doing a little upgrading here and there, but haven't really encountered any hiccups except for the exhaust manifold which is GOING TO LEAK AT SOME POINT IN TIME ( it comes with 7 holes for bolting it to the head....the head itself has provision for 8 studs, but comes with seven...go figure...the upper hole for cylinder #1 has no stud to go over.....its just...there..) Aside from this, the engine/car performs flawlessly....Currently at 330whp / 310lb./ft. any chance you can take some detailed pics of you motor and post them up in a new thread? what mods do you have done to the motor? do you know what size injectors it comes with stock? Pics to come later (as soon as i can find the digicam..lol) Engine comes with 540cc injectors....i'm currently running : 880cc injectors Clevespeed exhaust manifold w/ Garrett T3/T4BB turbo Turbonetics 38mm Deltagate II 3" full custom downpipe/exhaust w/Apexi N1 canister Evolution 8 front-mounted intercooler CP 9:1 forged pistons Crower Rods ST-185 gearbox/transfer case/rear diff/front axles (my car came with a tiptronic tranny) ARP head studs Turbo XS RFL blow-off valve Walbro fuel pump (to be installed) GReddy E-Manage Ultimate (installed...not yet tuned) GReddy Profec B boost controller GReddy Turbo Timer Catch can Porterfield R4 Carbon Kevlar pads grabbing slotted stock-sized TRD rotors ( I have a full Brembo rotor/caliper set from an Evo 8 to install ) WAYDO lowering springs ( sold through TRD Japan) 18" Privat wheels w/ 225/40zr18 Goodyear F1 GSD 3 tires east good luck on the swap hope it goes well and from what ive heard about dr tweak you in the right hands. Herbalife you deh pon tour man inna the other forums tho.Never knew so much things going on for your caldina.(jus a jamaican a hail you up i have asked you couple questions on wheels) Anyway good luck with the swap ,i am interested to here how yours go as i have a swap with the same engine which is being finished up now its a 4th gen 3sgte in a ae110 1999 toyota levin mods are light and like you i want to see what the 4th gen can do using a celica alltrac 4wd gearbox converted to fwd 3 inch exhaust sysytem(no cat converter) 13 lb lightweight flywheel stage 3 clutch kit spearco fmic turbo xs type hrfl kyb agx 4 way adjustable shocks with celica front springs walbro fuel pump will be running a little extra boost over stock i must say tho my mechanic has explained to me that this 3s runs very hot so temperature in engine bay will be an issue suffice to say i cant run my top mount IC even tho it looks so lovely with it.My mechanic has worked on 4th 2nd and 1st gen not sure bout 3 but i will ask him about parts for it and similaritites This post has been edited by teamchancery: Sep 30, 2006 - 6:51 PM |
