so today on my way to school, im driving along, and then out of nowhere my subs...just die. soudn still worked, but no thump at all.....im so confused. everythign is connected....it jsut died. someone told me that the amp was prolly to hot or something and to jsut give it a break and it should work......any thoughts??

depending on the amp, there are some that have an "auto shut off" feature where it hits a certain temp. and shuts down so it doesnt fry. so i would wait a lil bit and try it again.

you'll also want to check any fuses that are on your amps power wire, and any others.

ya. i was jsut talking ot afew friends and they siad that the amp was prolly gettign to hot, so it temporarilly shuts off. so im hoping thats the problem. i checked all the wires, and they were al lconnected....so im gonna check it later today, and hope that it works.

lol my amp does that 2 but it dosent shut off.

it has a little light on the side under the power light. it juss throws itself into protection for like a second or 2 than it resumes playing.

My fockford fosgate amp did that. After about 5 mins it would shut down, no sound at all..I was like confused.gif It turned out to be the cables I used for a set og 6x9. The cables was too thin, some bundle stuff. So I upgraded the cables and the problem went away

well...after about 10 minutes of investigating the problem....the cable to the battery somehow was knocked loose. readjusted everyhting, tightened it...and BOOM BOOM BOOM
