NOTE: just so you know before you read this, it's completely a pointless post, and is prolly as far off topic as any topic will get.

So this is how my day went. im mad at my BMW cuase it's a 1993 with only 73,000 miles on it. and i took it in to get smogged last week and it failed. so then i get new plugs, do an oil change and what not, go today and test it again, and it failed. so i just spent money on nothing there frown.gif, so then i get back into my car and i have a little talk with my bmw, and im like,
"why did you fail, i thought you said you were gunna do better!?"
and then my BMW was like,
"wth derrick, im never good enough for you! first you complain that my radio doesn't work and im boring to be with, and then you say my A/C doesn't work and im not cool enough, and then you say im overweight =("
So after we got into that little discussion at the smog place we drove home and didn't say a word to each other. And when we got home, i got out of the BMW and sat in my Alltrac (even though it doesn't run) to make the bmw jealous. ugh, i just want the best for her, but but, she's not passing. frown.gif, i dont know what else to do!
My life is going down the drain, im trying to get a job, one of my cars is failing, and my other car doesn't work, it just sits on the street and smokes. This is not where i thought id be 3 years ago, things are supposed to be different.. kindasad.gif, If only my 6gc were here... it would set a good example for these two. But sadly, it's still sitting at home in Ohio frown.gif. It refuses to leave Ohio until it goes to an East Coast 6gc meet, becuase it was grounded for the Philly meet last month. sigh kindasad.gif, i wouldn't let her go out cuase her motors were out and i had to take pictures of them to help the 6gc community out. I wasn't going to let her go all the way to PA topless. Well sorry i had to randomly rant about all that stuff, i just got so much stuff going on right now, and im running out of time and money frown.gif . (im also extremely bored at the moment)

Did you try using SeaFoam to clean out the carbon?

no i haven't tried that before, how much is it? I heard about it, but my neighbors are already kinda pissed at me and my alltrac for clouding up the entire street.

Like $5 for a can, 1 pint. Several diff ways to use it. BEST is to put it in the brake booster vacume line slowly, sip it in. I think the bottle says 1/3 pint. RIGHT when done, turn off car and let sit for 15 mins, turn on and smoke out the place, drive till it's gone.

also, I forgot what it said for gas, may be a whole can. It says on directions. do that too.

Also, if you have an EGR Valve, try takin it off and cleaning the carbon out. JUST THAT may do it. smile.gif

Lemme know if I left anything out.

Adam

Also, feel free to im me.

thanks man, i have no idea where the egr is located on this car yet. i haven't really taken a good look at the engine bay. But i'll let you know what happens. I planned on not spending any money on this car and i've already spent like $500 on it since i got it last week frown.gif

When my curren failed the smog guy told that i had three choices.
1. take the injectors out and clean them
2. purr a bottle of fuel cleaner in the fuel tank and come again
3. drive hard for 20 minutes and then come back.

I took the third option and after driving really hard for half an hour i took the car back for the test and the reading was almost zero.

So this is a good way for cleaning carbon but I guess they only advise it for Toyo because with other cars you would probably blow the engine. ha ha ha ha
