I have skirts and front and I want to install them for pre-fitment. I need help. Anyone with experience with vader kit that lives near NYC area?
If not, online help would be nice as well. First of all, the side skirts? I have a pretty good idea but not a lot. Any info? Thanks again!!!!!!! |

hey i dont have much expirence with putting one on....but i hope you had better luck at gettin a bumper with good fitment! Your fitment usually depends on where you bought it from.

You have to drill you own holes if you are doing it yourself and if you want it clean. Some mechanic shops will just make their own holes and don't care. Fitment depends on how well and accurate the manuafacturer you got it from made it. Some are crappy. Alot don't fit perfect. The only manuafacturer that I never had a fitment problem with any car was Extreme Dimensions. They actually try to make their kits a perfect fit.

The fitment should be good, but again I have yet to try it on. Any installation guide or a mini tutorial?

that piece slides into your door sill under the stock plastic piece..(use some self tapping screws to hold it in place...
i guarentee you will need to do some sanding on the inside of the side skirt to get it to perfectly fit thought. as for the front bumper you will need to get something to cut it with....the INSIDE of the LARGE center opening will need to be trimmed down inorder for the bumper to fit with the crash bar (about 3 inches nearly maybe more) |

Once evrything is fit which is almost done, where should I screw the side skirts into? Pick any randow area? 3 in the bottom?one near beside the wheel and 2 in the back? |

you really don't need to drill holes at all...use wat is called a "self tapping screw" for sheet metal

Maybe it's too much to ask but could anyone possibly give me an advice, on the side skirt installation?
In the front wheel well area, theres this thing where you put your mud flaps onto, there are 4 scrws and one hidden in the bottom, do I put the side skirts over that and drill through a pre existing hole on that area? How about in the back? any advice mini tutorials would certainly helped a lot. And if anyone has any experience near the NYC area, I'm asking for help... dependign on the miles traveled I'm even willing to pay for the gas used up. Thanks Leon |

you don't need to drill anything
go to home depot get some "self tapping sheet metal screws" you most likely won't be able to use the existing screw holes (i couldnt' at least) get your dad or friend to hold your sideskirt in place and just drill the screw through the skirt and into the car should be fine and dandy make sure to remove the mudflaps though This post has been edited by playr158: Aug 25, 2006 - 1:38 PM |

i would drill some holes into the fiberglass instead of just using a self tapping screw. this will help decrease the risk of cracking the fiberglass. but thats just my opinion. As for the metal, i would drill a small guide hole so that the screw will go in easier and more accuratly. The hole that you drill for your skirts should be slightly larger than the hole you drill in the metal, but should not be larger than the head of the screw. The screw should not thread into the fiberglass, it should only tread into metal. I used to have screws in mine, but i changed mine to rivets. I figured im never going to need to remove my sideskirts, but even if i wanted to remove them i could. Rivets hold tight and dont strip
