Hi all new to this do I think you guys maybe able to help.

I currently have a Celica Gen 6 auto with a 3S-FE engine turning about 140 BHP I've benn looking around and it appear the other engine that was fitted to the celica was a 3S-GE which puts out around 180 to 190 BHP.

My question is that if the engine is from a MR2 or other car is it a simple job to switch engines as I have a Auto box. in short will the 3S-GE just drop into the hole????

Many thanks

Yes, except for different placement of alternator and some other things on the MR2 engine. It is easy to convert them though. It's been awhile since we've had this question.

Thanks for the infor.

I did search and read the sticky but can''t find that question so thought best ask.

So in short if I can find a 3S-GE from a celica car it would just slot in, however if engines from MR2 i will need to change the location of stuff but still possible.

Another question is would the Auto box be able to handle the extra 40 BHP or does that need adjustment?

Sorry just thought of another question reading about a BEAM engine with red cover, do these just slot in and is there much different in the output?

Thanks again

sorry for being stupid but would that give me the same as a complete engine swap.
3S-FE = 140 BHP
3S-GE = 180 BHP approx
swapping head
3S-FE with 3S-GE = ??????

swapping heads would be a lot easier for me.

The engine is the same whether its from a Celica or MR2. The difference is the accessory brackets and mounts... but if you have a 3SFE... most of those should transfer over.

And... no... swapping heads would NOT be easier because the pistons are also very different. Besides that... source yourself an engine harness and ecu and most everything should bolt up alright...
