2003 GSX-R600 Alstare edition.

Bad picture of me, but hey, it was taken from a cellphone.

I still have the celica, but I plan on selling it.. I'm still a new rider, still have those jitters. Everyone told me to not start on a super sport bike, but I couldn't resist. Right now I'm taking it easy on her, but being on this thing, seeing as how it has almost the same amount of HP as a GT Celica, it's a *completely* different experience than anything i've ever driven.

My auto ST is jealous, but she'll get over it. Just thought I'd share, I was gonna turbo my car or put some money in to it, but I kinda like the good ol' reliability of Toyota so i'll probably never mod it.

Anyone else here ride a bike? Post some pics!

this is the one im eye'ing, im making 3 places compete for my bussiness right now, so hopefully if all goes to plan I will have it for an early X-mas present. But ya, bikes > cars. Its still weird whenever I get on a bike to use your foot for shifting, down first, up up uP!!!! lol

i heard 600 CBR's are somewhat easier to start on than a gixxer, this thing is intimidating. either way, you'll still have a blast on any 600.

i've been riding for about a month now and i've gotten it up to about 100 on some closed back roads. they have a nice stretch of about a mile of clean paved road (new construction stuff) which i practice my straights on every night. i paid my buddy $20 to sweep all the gravel off the road, haha.

Yeah, the CBRR 600's are like basically training bikes for everyone when it comes to starting off.

R1's are indeed God. After you've rode one once. You never go back. I've driven my buddies R1 a couple times and oh my god. They are so light and nimble, they almost put a 'busa to shame.

That's a nice looking bike. I'm hoping on getting a 03-04 R6 this winter so I can hopefully get a good deal on it. How do you like riding so far? Everything you were hoping it would be?

quite honestly, i should've gotten a 250 or a 500 to start off on. i probably would've learned how to ride a motorcycle instead of learning how to ride a screaming 15k redline motor.

but, it's great. i love the open road, my hands get a little sore after riding for a few hours, but otherwise it's a complete blast. i would never recommend a newb starting out on a race bike like i did, but if you enjoy speed and feeling nimble & free, go get yourself a bike, you won't regret it.

a sportbike is infinitely more aware of your inputs than a car is. you can be extremely lazy in a car, but on a bike, laziness will cost you big time. it makes me more aware of my surroundings and every little thing my body does when i'm on it. it's quite amazing and intimidating at the same time.

you should never be scared to ride, if you are only bad things will happen. Respect the bike and it will respect you.
