This is what is now under project. Panel for headunit and dsl mirror. Im removing the glovebox and putting this panel right on its place. Im doing this cos few months ago i installed 7" screeh in to the center console and it left no room for the headunit. So what do you guys think so far? -N This post has been edited by Nibbe: Sep 18, 2006 - 7:17 AM -------------------- Please visit on our teams new website. hrp-tuning.com

copying my old idea huh
I had that setup for some time, then converted it to single dinn and yanked the screen out, it was pretty cool but I have since yanked the whole thing and maid a new whole peace that replaces the entire glove box and the peace it mounts to, (goes all the way around and its smooth, no dinn, my deck went back to my center console in a custom panel converted to single dinn and converted for a few other things too. looks good, keep us posted. I wana no how you mount it, I had to end up putting screws though it that were visible to the outside, so it was not a seemless install, my new one is using custom snaps and stuff so ithas no screws. -------------------- |

Sorry. Didnt really know anyone have done this before. But i think there is no way that any of your ideas havent been used before. And im thinking also just screwing that from the inside so no one could see the screws. But i have also thinked making custom snaps. Have to see which way im going to end up with. -N QUOTE(JFrost9 @ Sep 5, 2006 - 10:14 PM) How do you use it? Im guessing a remote? Other then the lack of me being able to just push a button whenever i want, i think its gonna look sweet. I have a x-box remote that im using so the headunit is going there just for the looks no need for it really. In the next hu im considering has also a remote that you can put onto steeringwheel so that will fix it anyway. And why im buing the new hu is that i need better outs to play my new setup like it should. But ill let you know more about it when i start to make my mew trunk. Hope no one havent done same kind of a setup im planning. -N Ill keep you posted. Think i finally cover it today with some black leather to match my interior. Hoping to put it on its place today also. -N -------------------- Please visit on our teams new website. hrp-tuning.com

QUOTE Sorry. Didnt really know anyone have done this before. its all good, your right most all things have probably been done before. not a bad idea with the screws from behind did not think to try it, wont work with my new setup since that base peace is gone. its actualy not that hard to reach it, just lean over or have a pass do it, but yeah I did use a remote most the time. -------------------- |

Yesterday we got much stuff done with this and i think today i can finish this project if the covering with leather goes well and my HU's cables are long enough. BTW ended up putting some sort of custom clips with bolts on the behind which was nice cos now it can be easily bolted on or off if needed. I go to work with it now. Ill keep you guys posted. -N

So here is pics of todays progress. Im pretty happy with it but it still needs little modifications to be perfect and like the way i want it.
Here's the pic with leather and dsl mirror on. Mirror still needs the blue lights into behind so it could look like it should. And here is pic of the "clips" i made. I might put it on saturday cos tomorrow i've got to work. Just to get some money to upgrade my celi. -N -------------------- Please visit on our teams new website. hrp-tuning.com

I think it looks pretty sweet too but there is still few places where the leather isn't the way i like it to be. Maybe doing the leather thing again cos it won't take long and then it should be even better. It just needs it's time to get it done and im ok with it. -N QUOTE(Celiracer18 @ Sep 7, 2006 - 7:45 PM) thats what remotes are for That's true. -N -------------------- Please visit on our teams new website. hrp-tuning.com

This is where im now with my project.
Learned from a few mistakes at the first time and now primed it allover again (it's very smooth now) and painted the depth areas to match my leather color. Just in case the leather doesn't go all the way to the bottom and there would be some empty areas. Now im more happier with it. The next thing to do is again cover it with leather and then just simply put it on and enjoy the looks. Hoping it to be done by next week. -N -------------------- Please visit on our teams new website. hrp-tuning.com

Ive been so lazy but now i finally got some photos for you guys. Enjoy.
So what do you guys think (exept the glue and other stains)? I also took one photo of the center console. Its not finished yet but gives you pretty good thought what its going to look like. The headunit still needs its frames but its pretty much finished. Ill try to take one photo at night time so the mirror shows up a lil bit better. Next project is going to be new trunk setup from fg. Wish me luck. -N This post has been edited by Nibbe: Sep 18, 2006 - 7:18 AM -------------------- Please visit on our teams new website. hrp-tuning.com

You have almost my exact old head unit. Where did the double-din monitor come from? -------------------- |

Nice work! I could never have this setup, because if a passenger ever changed my tunes, I would have to go upside their head.
