^ i dont know if your implying that I slept in a stupid place but i didnt lol. I parked in a grocery store parking lot and then when all the lights turned off at midnight and freaked me out I went to an apartment complex.
It was either sleep in my car or on the floor. I cant do the floor! -------------------- Cruisin down the street in my Infiniti...always lookin for my next trip to Sin City

^ wow, I bet you didn't expect all this mess.
I haven't sleep in my celi, but things happen and we don't always have money to afford the cheapest motel on the road; that's just life. That's how we learn to value what we have. And for some of us hating on this, that's just because we've never been on a situation like that, but the time will come and we'll think diferent. ![]() -------------------- ![]() |

i don't usually sleep in my car. but a couple semesters ago i had the crappiest schedule which had like a 3 hour gap in between my classes. so instead of driving home and back, i slept in my car when i was tired.

I'll give you a crappy schedule:
8:00 - 8:50 class 5:15 - 6:45 class. Nothing in between. 3 hours is a good gap for me. ![]() It's good the rest of the days aren't quite as bad as that. This post has been edited by jess_i_74: Sep 5, 2006 - 12:48 PM -------------------- |

The only times when i have had to sleep in my car was when i was driving cross country and my car was packed full of things. So full that i couldnt recline the seat. But if you are tired enough, youll sleep in any position. And these are the times when ive been driving 13+ hours and am falling asleep on the road. I would pull over at a rest stop, sleep for an hour or two, and then keep going.

True.dat SO long as my wife approved ![]() My olds is good for sleeping in, the seats recline way back and there is plenty of room. The corbeau seats are great for driving, but suck for napping in, even leaned way back. And some of us are too tall to fit in the trunk-back seat area. If I had to I would use the car as a wimmin magnet and sleep with one of the many that would stop to touch the car. Or the ground. |

number 1 seems like the best, I went camping with a big group of people last weekend and a friend of mine had a fight with his g/f the last night so she ended up sleeping in my car for a night till they made up, just reclined the driver seat back, I have 7th gen seats so it made it even more comfortable. I think trying to sleep on the rear seats folded down would not work, just way to uncomfortable and stiff.
QUOTE bummer. I thought this thread was about something else. there really ant much room in the back seat for fun and games. like its a pain, and not really comfortable. dont know about the front seats but its way more visible -------------------- ![]() |

ok guys, hold on a bit. My advice was general and not towards anyone specific. You have to keep in mind that I live on an island which you can drive from one end to the other in 2 hours. And as i am leaving in the middle any driving more than 15 minutes is considered a trip. So any driving cross country reasons or free time in between things does not really apply for me. Heck, 1,5 hours lunch break and I can go home, eat lunch and spend a few minutes on this forum or take a nap and still have time to go back to work on time. Its a 5 minute drive. On my previous employment the workplace from my house was a 47 seconds drive. So sleeping in the car (especially in my country) in not really an issue.
Btw, having free time inbetween things is not that horrible. You can always find things to do during that time. Go to the Gym/library or just study. Sleeping in the car with the heater/radio on cannot be good. firstly, your battery will die out shortly. But much worst, if the engine is not started, other things can happen while you are sleeping and be in a lot of trouble. I know of a story of such a case when the wiring of the car overheated and burst into flames and the guy inside died because he was sleeping and didn't have time to react. |

^ dang....
If i got a 1.5 hour lunch i could drive home (if absolutly no traffic) eat a 1 min lunch and get back just in time for work, my commute is over 1.5 hours every day, manly because of traffic, then on the weekend its just over 100 miles round trip to see my girlfriend, not including any driving we do. I spend a crap ton of time behind the wheel of my baby. and guzzle a lot of gas. I would love to have 7 hours free time durring the day, that would be so sweet, actualy get to see my g/f durring the week, and actualy get some things done on my car, dont complane about that at all!! i bet the batt would die before the wires would overheat but if your pumping the heater you never know, ied suck to wake up and be on fire. -------------------- ![]() |
