Hey all. I've got an issue and I assume it is braking related.
My brake light (on the gauge cluster, the e-brake one "BRAKE") will illuminate at seemingly random times during driving. It started illuminating during hard braking about a month ago and now it comes on at will. I notice that hard turns, hard braking, or even just random driving will induce it to illuminate. Any ideas on the source of the problem? Some answers would be appreciated. Thanks, Ed P.S. Forgot to mention: I have a 96' Celica GT. No ABS. Thanks. try checking if the wires under the car are loose and check the brakepads for the parking brake

isn't there a button switch right beneath the e-brake handle that when pushed (e-brake handle down) the light goes off?
might want to check that out.. -------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

i agree its most likely brake fluid level. I had a small leak in one line for almost a year until the line finally failed totally. I had to put fluid in about every two weeks. the light came on during hard braking once, and then after a little while came on more often and finally just stayed on.
I had a leak in on of the rear brake lines right where it bends up towards the driverside caliper. good luck, let us know what it ends up being |

yeah its the brake fluid level
1. check it and add some or 2. check your brake pads and see if theyre really worn (thats what it was for me) -------------------- -Brian

Checked the brake fluid, looks a little low. Filling her up should do the trick.
The bigger question is: do I have a leak and how bad is it? Hope for the best. |

QUOTE(sdragon007 @ Sep 12, 2006 - 6:51 AM) The bigger question is: do I have a leak and how bad is it? take a look at it? Leaks almost always occure at the connectors or calipers... -------------------- "It's ok to be naked girl... I'm an artist!"
