I contacted Lotek about making a 3 guage full pillar for the 6th gens. We would need 30 people to get the project going. Price would be between $40-60. Once they started, it would take about 2-3 months.

So, anyone interested?

I think Charlie has already gotten this ball rolling and we are waiting for them to do it...... If not then I'm in again as long as it is a full piller.

Yeah, Charlie had it going but he was told it would be around a year, so he quit on it. The email I got didnt say it would take that long but I'm going to email them again and see when they could start. I'm going to keep trying.

yeah i'm out of organizing it. THEY didn't say it would take a year, that's what the guy who organized the 5th gen one told me. basically, they are hard to keep in touch with, but if everyone is ok with fronting the money and not getting the product for 3-6 months., then it's worth it, and also, once they make it, it's always available.

i just know a lot of people recently have seemed to lack anything resembling patience on a group buy. just make sure you emphasize that the money has to be sent in advance but it's gonna be a few months at least.

they are a trustworthy company tho. i know this. they won't screw you over. it just may take a while. smile.gif

This is the original email I got back from Lotek. Just so you all know what would be going on if this happens.

Follow-up will be with project leader only. (Please do not have others call
for status)

Color samples (at least 4"x4", OEM pillar preferred) of all colors to be
painted up to 3.
Size of gauge hole diameter wanted (usually 2 1/16" and/or 60mm). Note:
some models may not take the 60mm size do to pillar limitations.

PLEASE GIVE AN ESTIMATE BUT DO NOT PROMISE A CONCRETE DATE TO YOUR GROUP!"

can we find a company to purchase a bunch of these along with us to meet the 30 mark?

also, has anyone checked to see if the 5th gen 3/4 pillar will fit?

Well, with Lotek, once they do the initial group buy/project, they will continue to sell it. So I dont know if any other companies would also want to sell it.

i think if you just post on celica.net, you'll get a big enough list
