So as I was pulling into my garage tonight my upper radiator hose cracked and of course made a lovely mess spraying green coolant everywhere, along with the smell of maple bagels (don't ask, but that is the smell that comes to mind when the sweet coolant sprays on the engine).

So what I am wondering is what is the part number for this hose? I know I could just call up Toyota and ask them, but I also wanted to ask the question if it has to be replaced with the factory hose?

Could you replace this with a high temp silicone hose or perhaps a Viton hose? Would the coolant eat away at it, would the temperatures be alright, any other issues or thoughts of using something other than the ugly black Toyota hose?

i have a 5SFE hose here, pay shipping and it's yours - pm me for details

other than that, you should be able to find "by the foot" universal hose or replacement hoses at Canadian Tire. If you want to go the extra step, get something like stainless steel flexible hose. Looks like a ribbed metal pipe.

Well it looks like I found the part number 16571-74280.

K-ESD, I sent you my postal code. Let me know the shipping costs.

So anybody have anything other than the Factory Rad Hose on theirs?
