Theres this thing connected to the air intake hose that is near the throttle body. What is it and what does it do? It seems to only be on ST models and not the GT. Ever pic that I seen with an intake does not have that triangular box thing. The reason i ask cuz i want to put an intake in my ST but dont want to touch it fearing its something important. Heres a pic:
I appreciate any info you have. 97rocket hope u dont mind me using ur pic its only the with a good angle to see that thing connected to the hose. This post has been edited by chandy1986: Sep 11, 2006 - 10:59 AM |

I believe that box is just attached to the intake and nothing else, I believe I had it as well. So look at it again and if its attached to anything other than the air intake get another pic but i am pretty certain you don't need it.

its an intake resonator designed to...
muffle the intake sound reduce the ear peircing sound of air hissing past a closed throttle to look goofy and make you ask this question you can take it off and plug it, but it wont have ANY affect on performance. -------------------- |

Ok ill take another look to see if its connected to anything else. But if all it does is just muffle the sound then I guess it not so important if u dont care about the hissing sound.

GTs have them as well. They're just on the underside of the intake closer to the filter box.
