"All we can do is tell them the stories..and show them the tape"

"On September 11th, we found ourselves trapped...inside hell. We've been fighting for our way out ever since."

"We must never forget, what they did here"

NYFD/NYPD/NYPA - Sept. 11th, 2001

-To those who were lost, but are still alive in our hearts.-

This is my own personal tribute to all those who were there to help that day, at both the World Trade Towers, and the Pentagon. This is also a tribute to the men and women, of the United States Armed Forces, who are fighting to keep the way of life that I enjoy, a reality.

So Thank You, to everyone. I am honored, to be able to consider myself a citizen of a nation, with people that are willing to risk, and when necissary, give, there lives, to save others.

...maybe after the 5 year anniversary this country can move on like we should have a long time ago. the terrorists won, just so you all know. according to our own logic. we did not go on with our lives. we are still fixated on this just like we were the day after it happened. everyone still worries. everyone still talks. everyone is still terrified. hopefully after this grand celebration marking the 5 years after such an awesome event, we can finally begin to move on. there's a difference between remembering, and being fixated. we, as a country, are still fixated...

First off i too would like to honor those who lost their lives or risked them to save others.

Secondly i completely agree with you mynzeyes, except i wouldnt necessarily say they won...we are only fixated with it because its our own battle. Our previous generations all had their wars or what not, and now we have ours, and its news. Its something to talk about...its not like its the center of our lives like it was then...

i too honor those who lost their lives/risked their lives to save others on 9/11. and how can people not worry about terrorism? if a person gets hit by a car, afterwards he's gonna make sure to look both ways when crossing the street. can't really help it. and that terrorist thing that happened recently in england, i was actually flying home from london the same day they caught those guys. people are crazy. for some reason, they hate the way we live as americans. i have nothing but respect for the people that make sure that we continue to live the way we do.

Yeah, tribute to the guys & gals who died 5 years ago and those who are serving in our armed forces.

I will say though, I don't think our government or our society has changed for the better in the past 5 years.

they don't really hate just us as Americans, they hate everyone, because of certain Islamic beliefs. It's just a fundamental difference between Islam vs. the rest of the world, and now it's become our problem. You can fight people with weapons, but you can't really fight someone's faith.

Let's just hope our nation has learned it's lessons.

Don't forget the passengers of Flight 93 who took over that plane before it could be aimed at more lives.

This is my moment of thought for the families, friends, coworkers, and other acquaintences of those who were killed, the brave souls who went or stayed in the buildings to rescue others, and even those who survived and were traumatized or otherwise horribly affected...

It's not a matter of being hung up on it, its a matter of it being something that deeply affected me when I saw it, and something that I feel is worth remembering.
