How do you make CAIs like that? They look pretty good.

I got the CAI off ebay. it wasn't a brand name, it is Chrome Intakes? it was like $60.
i think your thinking of a Short Ram Intake. it would end up behind my battery, they are "shorter" I liked the CAI better this way, looks more like a turbo, when i dont have the money for turbo X) I like your headers, where'd u get them? How do you make CAIs like that? They look pretty good. -------------------- |

headers for 7afe are actually headers for a corolla. While they fit like a glove you MAY have a slight issue installing them. Depending on company that makes them they sometimes may need to be cut at a muffler shop and rewelded because of ackward angle that corolla header has.
Edit: Try not to drive into any deep puddles. If you put your filter where your stock box was then it can get went in heavy rain or in water This post has been edited by yarik83: Dec 15, 2009 - 6:30 PM -------------------- Captain Pessimist

Looks like a honda boy went to town with some spray paint.
I don't know what it is about that blue, but I think it looks really cheap. And now that it is all painted up you've really cut down the prospective buyer demographic to that of a 16-18 year old kid. I love all of the attention to detail, but I feel the overall picture looks poor. If it were to be a black block with a silver valve cover with black details on the ridges and the same thing on the intake manifold and fuel rail it would look much better. Why did you get an engine put in? It looks like your old one but just painted. Even the rust on the heat shield is in the same spots.
Not a fan of the baby blue spray painted distributor cap and struts, but congrats over all for getting your car back from repair. -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

i just cant believe this, its a sad sad day for the 7afe, and yeah you did just kill your resale demographic from anyone to a 16 year old yeah well, couldnt have the time to do a better swap, so i could have it looking greasy and the same! i woulda gone crazy. so i felt like paint would make up for the power i still dont have lol i would say great effort! i would say the color is really striking but its your choice doing that. -------------------- |

I got a new engine cause mine had bad rings and i burned a ton! of oil, got 8 miles to the gallon, couldnt do above like 48! and the new engine didnt come with a new heat shield . it essentially is a painted old engine. but i wasnt expecting such a sudden need for the new engine (wanted to do a swap) but didnt have enough time, so i couldnt bear looking at the "new engine" all greasy (it had 60k on it) so i really needed to paint it and at least cover up in my mind that i spent a bunch of money and still have a stock 7afe lol
thanks for the congratz Why did you get an engine put in? It looks like your old one but just painted. Even the rust on the heat shield is in the same spots. well i dont plan on selling anytime soon. And i am a dumb 18 year old kid so i like it lol. And i know there are some stupider kids that ahve rich parents if i ever want to sell it. Wanted to do a engine swap, like a black top. I had been looking into it but my old 7afe got sooooo bad i couldnt drive it and needed a quick easy fix. but i couldnt stand the thought of it looking absolutely the same! so i had to paint it, and all i had was high temp blue and red. and my car didnt work so i couldnt get ne thing different that day lol

If it were to be a black block with a silver valve cover with black details on the ridges and the same thing on the intake manifold and fuel rail it would look much better. ugh, just want simple headers and i would have to go through a puddle deeper than my splash shield for the water to affect. the splash shield is directly under it, quite conveniently i might add lol. headers for 7afe are actually headers for a corolla. Thanks its time consuming actually, no one seems to get that, not like i just painted them i did it rightlol. but yeah i had wanted to do a swap, but couldnt cause i needed a new engine bad! so i really didnt want to look at the "same" greasy looking engine forever! so i had to do something about it lol.
thanks- i would say great effort! i would say the color is really striking but its your choice doing that. -------------------- |

Love the "new" engine. Its a shame you can't drive with your hood up to show it off to everyone .
