Sorry about that man. I can't believe there are people like this. try investing in an alarm if you don't have one already, it would not stop them but will draw some attention to them and reduce the amount of damage.
Sorry once again.

i bought an alarm complete with install for $600 last year (it was the best model then). they said they'd hold the unit for upto a year until i get my car fixed (i bought my car salvaged at the time). when i got the car repaired and registered, i called them back but they had already closed down. i still have my receipt and their dumb 1-800 customer service can't do $h*et.. i contacted the area manager of the head office and he doesn't reply to my e-mails. what should i do?

keep all records and info of times you contact the company regarding your alarm... if you planned to go and hire a lawyer.

Try sending them a letter with some legal terms in it and also include a copy of the receipt.. maybe that might work. I don't know about getting a lawyer though, it would definitely work but it all depends on how much its gonna cost when all is said and done.
But if you have to buy an alarm again, try getting it from a franchise ...something like best buy, circiut city etc so if something goes wrong or you move you, rest assured you will be able to them.
Yeah similar thing happened to me few years ago, I had a problem with my alarm going off while driving and would not arm or disarm, I was in school in another state, when I finally went back to my home state to get it fixed, there was a cellphone store sitting in place frown.gif . store closed down can't locate them. So I just went home and yanked it out of the car mad.gif biggrin.gif .

Man, this sucks! You just got your stuff painted and had a verrry nice looking car…
****, I hate those kids…you make a good point of having an alarm, they might have run away after smashing the window and not keyed the car…

my sympathies

UPDATE:

finally got my car sent in for repairs... all the body shops were on a 4 week waiting period due to a hail storm that occured just outside the city so it seems like everybody's getting their cars fixed.
anyway, now it's in and the courtesy car i'm driving now is a 2000 cavalier. it's pretty ghetto imo. compared to the celi, it feels rough as if you're driving on gravel (i'm guessing it's the tires) and you feel everything from the floor pan, needs alignment, front wiper arms are rusted (pretty annoying to look at), absolutely no power (both in luxury features and in the engine) and i get back pains due to the forward curve of the seats near the upper shoulders. i guess it's expected since the car has more kms than mine. ehhhh, i'll just have to put up with it.

the estimated cost of repairs was $2,700 Cdn and many parts needed to be replaced. although, i'll surely be posting pics when i get it back. i just hope they do a good job and don't take my car on a joy-ride around town.. damn, i shoulda resetted the trip meter.
