okay.....so as the title implys, me and my friends the other night were in a parking lot, and we were bored, so we decided to do a few "E-brakes" as we call them for short......any way, we got going to about 35-40 mph, turned hard, and pulled the brake....and presumed to ''drift'' around the turn......while this was perhaps the coolest thing in the world.....i somehow think its very bad for my car....thoughts?

One thing you are doing is creating flat spots on the tire from dragging the rear of the car. This will create a bad ride and will probably wear your tires down quickly.

^^^^ditto. i learned the hard way u get hi and low spots on the back and your ride will SUCK! especially if you have low profile tires its not a good thing. not to mention youre bound to break a cv boot or another vital mechanical part of your car.

it'll put your car out of alignment quickly, flat spots on the tires, tickets/court costs/fines, and you look like a tard doing it.

Plus it's especially hard on your brakes since you have a GT with shoes that are only meant to hold a car in place, not be abused.

i dont think anything will really happen to your engine, you lunatics said you were doing like 30 and lettin em slide right? unless youre gassing it while youre sliding, i dont think there would be any engine issues if you are gassing it while sliding...youre askin 4 trouble bud. (it is hella fun though!)

i think its pointless on a FF drive car. i seen a FF drift before but its just not the same as drifting in a rear wheel drive car. plus your putting alot of wear and tear on your parts.

well, there's a local place that does it for cheap, and they've lasted about 4 years with not much wear considering i'd use it quite often.
