I guess most of you ppl is getting sick of all the magnaflow "uuuh what muffleer should i get" posts going around here but i AM a total noob to all of this so im gonna have to start one more of them.

So if i have the stock exhaust mounted, and exchange the muffler to the one above, will i get that deep and agressive sound i love and want, yet without making the car too noisy? (i wanna be able to talk inside the car while driving)

That is, if using the stock exhaust with the above muffler = deep sweetness OR waste of money?

i have the same muffler and honestly, just replacing the rear muffler while leaving the stock mid muffler in will get you very little change in sound. it is a little louder, but nothing really impressive. me, i took out the stock mid muffler after puting on the magnaflow and it did make it much louder, but i also get a "pop" when i let off the gas sometimes. so, it's really up to you. the best souding thing i found when doing all my muffler work was just the mid muffler by its self, but i already had the magnaflow and didn't want to feel i wasted the money.lol
so whatever you may do, i hope my 2 cents has helpout out some.

ive searched a little and found these clips...they pretty much sum up how id like my exhaust to sound.
Will the muffler be enough to get this sound?

yeah the first muffler I got was an arospeed, and that was all i mounted.. it was slightly louder but not worth the $140 i paid for the thing..

next i got the 2 1/4" cat back with magnaflow muffler.. sounds amazing.. the key is to keep the resonator in to avoid that ricey sound.. but mine is nice and deep and perfect sound.. not so loud that you can't hear people inside.. but loud enough to hear the engine and to be noticed... highway can get a little annoying at 3 or 4k for constant speed.. but if I put the silencer in.. its back to stock sound :-)

If you want that sound..go with a Magnaflow. But only thing is, depending on how you set up the exhaust infront of the muffler will depend on the sound. I have my headers then 2.25" from front to back with a magnaflow 2.5" cat and a highflow vibrant performance resignator with a magnaflow muffler. Its relativey quiet but still has a nice growl to it when you give it some gas. That one should sound good though, very low tone. Mine is the same muffler but has a double rolled tip on it.

If you want sound and loud exhaust, go for Apexi N1. Besides that, I haven't heard any other exhaust out there that is super loud besides Blitz Nur Spec which is my personal favorite.

i like the sound, especially the idle sound, but wont that be a pain to drive in highway at 3-4k rpm for a while?

Can someone please tell me what a resonator is? Is it an addon component or is it allready installed on the stock system?

Please read.
http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/7177/exhausttheory.html

One thing is false about this theory, muffler's do add horsepower depending on the engine. But the explainations are fairly true.

the "resonator" is the mid muffler that comes stock on our cars. now you can also get aftermarket resonators that will allow you to have much more sound coming out of your magnaflow

no, they do not ADD horsepower. no more than taking the belt off the alternator for a drag race adds horse power.

now let me explain before you tell me im wrong without thinking about it.

it doesnt add power, it gives you move of the available power. the power was and has been there, just wasnt usable because of the impediment to exhaust flow. if you welded a 1/2inch reducer into the exhaust of the motor, the engine still has the same displacement and the same amount of potential available power, but by impeding the flow of exhaust out you're reducing its power output by hampering part of the 4 stroke cycle. by removing the restriction you can free the engine to exhale more easily

its pretty quiet with light throttle, road noise is louder in the car than the exhaust.

And where would be the best and cheapest place to order for someone who lives in sweden? (dont wanna get ruined at shipping)

^Very true. I have the same muffler installed, initially, I had it installed without the resonator and boy at highway speed it was buzzing my ears out. So I broke down and took it back to have a resonator put in and it made it a lot quieter. So the key is to have a resonator in if you want to avoid the loud ricey sound. Secondly, like "klm 317" pointed out there is some low pop sound whenever you let off the gas, seems like it is inherent in the design or something. Other than that its a decent muffler with deep sound to it but definately not the best one I have heard.
