Hello, everyone! I swapped in an e-153 tranny from a '91 MR2 Turbo and I obtained a set of axels (non-abs because my car is not equipped with abs) from a '92 Toyota Camry V6 and they do not fit in the hub of my '94 Celcia ST (despite the fact that I have been told that they are supposed to fit right in w/o modification). The part of the camry axels that is supposed to fit into my hub is slightly thicker and shorter than that of factory axels on my car). What could be the problem? Should I try '91 Camry axels instead? Has anyone here used '92 Toyota Camry V6 axels that fit right into the hub of their '94 Celica ST without problems?
Thanks, everyone! -------------------- I drive a Celica. Anything "less" is just a car! |

whoever told you to use Camry outer axles told you wrong. The rule is to use the Camry V6 inner shafts to the trans and celica outer shafts to the hub.

The early Camry outers are the same as ours... It looks like you got some of the newer style camry outer axles which, as you have already found out, are different. Take your old axle to the parts store with you to compare.
You can make a hybrid from All-Trac and MR2 axles: http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=39709 EDIT: According to Kuya the 1990 Camry Axle is what you need: http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=6255 This post has been edited by WannabeGT4: Oct 5, 2006 - 4:09 PM -------------------- ![]() Project ST204.5 99.88946% complete... |
