Does any one have an Engine Diagnostic Tool to scan trouble codes?
If so, what kind do you have and how does it work. I found some online for less then $100 but are they all compatible with our cars? |

One more thing to through in the garage... Good luck with that. A generic OBDII scanner with real time capability will cost a couple hundred. If you get one like the Auto X-Ray that comes with multiple cables for different manufacturers OBDI vehicles in addition to OBDII, those go for about $350 to well over $1K depending on where and what. -------------------- |

I use the elm based "allinone" code reader. It works on PC so you need a laptop or a PC at proximity.
In my case I'm using my carPC so the code reader is pretty much built into my car -------------------- ----------------------6GC's FIRST V6----------------------

I seen the same tool that AutoZone uses at Advanced Auto for $140. And I see a cheaper one at Walmart for $100. They really aren't that bad. It's a lot cheaper to make a switch to flip to check codes via check engine light.
