I got home after working 4 doubles in a row, and checked my email and tracking information, apparently the engine arrived on the 19th... Car goes under the knife this weekend. Still need more information about the automatic to manual swap, but the mechanic doesnt seem to worried about it. He says the only task will be wiring, and praying that the check engine light doesnt come on...

Yehp. I just did a KLZE swap into my 96 Mazda 626 LX...used to have the 2.5L USDM version of the KLZE named the KL03...yeah and everything's fine cept check engine light. I have a feeling it's cause the guy who's doing the swap didn't reset the eCU...moron. Also, make sure to use your existing EGR, cuz that fixed our idle problem. Lata!

the only clips that i could find available were very high mileage, and way way overpriced. I need this engine cuz i really cant be without a car. So it works out. I'm hoping everything will be ok with this.

Yea sorry about the pics, why the hell are they only 2 inches lol, i've never posted pics on here...

I also ordered the Supra MKIV A Pillar Dual gauge Pod thingy mer jiggy, i'm gonna get a boost gauge, what would be good idea for the second gauge? Think air temp or air fuel ratio? I'm going to be getting an aftermarket fuel / air computer as soon as i can really.

Also more on the swap, what all am i going to need to switch from auto to manual?

So far i have...

Gas Pedal
Brake Pedal
Clutch Pedal

And the throttle cable + all mounting stuff for that

From another 6th gen manual ST.

I ordered the TRD quickshift tonight, i didnt really feel like shopping around so i might have got ripped, i probably should have looked more but i am tired and very lazy, anyway, like 170 shipped or something. So what more am i gonna need, any help would be greatly appreciated.

you will need the clutch master cylinder off a 6th gen celica, and you shouldn't need the throttle cable, because there's not a difference, buuuut, if you already have one...i'll take the extra one...mine messed up a while back and i just used a mt bike brake cable to remedy it....

also, you will need some piping to rig up a front mount intercooler, unless you are gonna put in a hood scoop, and um...shifter cables off an ST celica...patience...and new exhaust of course....and um...........the stuff....iono what else...notta lot....i'll think of more stuff later...my hand fuggin hurts... frown.gif...

when you lookin to have this done?

the AE101 version makes about 170hp, but i hear the AE92 (which is rated at about 165) actually seems to pull a little harder...it may be due to the different weights of the car... smile.gif

you need a fuel pump too, the stock ST one won't cut it.

I have the greddy SP exhaust will that cut it, or will i be saying bye bye to that? How much can i expect to pay for the Clutch Master cylinder? Should i buy that new, or try to get a salvage one?

I payed 1145 for the engine, its an AE101 w/ MAP (also 5spd tran.) The engine has 79,000 KM on it.

Storm performance has another AE101 w/ AFM i believe in stock, It has around the same mileage. Same price too, great guys to deal with.

Yea John, if i end up not needing that throttle cable i'll give it to you i guess, but we'll see smile.gif

How difficult is it to make a FMIC for our car? I asked my mechanic this yesterday while I was in there and he said he didnt know of anyone around here who did work on that sort of stuff, but he'll take a look at it.

As i said the car goes under the knife this weekend, and my mechanic said the mechanical part will be done probably in a day or two, the electrical will take a while longer.

Ok, found some pinouts the other night, should help my mechanic a bit. I read a bit of that article about building your own intercooler, but could i just buy like a prefabbed intercooler instead having to build one?

I drop off the car later today....
