sup everyone, i just installed a Pioneer Premier DEH-P5800MP head unit. the front and back speakers works great but i think the two tweeters by the side mirrors are not working. i only have 6 speakers that i know of. After checking to see if the tweeters have sound, i might mistaken that the front door side speakers might be the ones i hear. is it possible that the two tweeters are not working? if so, i read something about doing a crossover to make it work. how do i do it?

this is just my theory, maybe someone can confirm it.
guessing the stock amp has the crossovers for the tweeter built into it.
when you installed the new headunit did you bypass the amp?
if you did that you would need to tap into the front channel and run it to the tweeters with a crossover.
i know the tweeters have seperate wires running to them, but i dont beleive they make it all the way back to the headunit. thats why i assume thats how it works.

k check it out.

there is 1 wire that goes from the harness and splits to 2 wires going to the tweeters and the speakers.

they do work if you didnt cut any wires and are using the stock wires for the front speakers.

try to open ur door and put ur ear over the tweeter and see if it works then cause i thought mine didnt work either til i did that.

I have the eight speaker system and I bypass the amp, but my tweets work. At first I thought it didn't till I put my ear real close. but these stock tweets are not all that great or loud to begin with. I can get generic tweets for 15 dollars and they are way better.

Yes I also bypassed the amp and used the 87 up Toyota harness. Ok... so I tuned in to a rock station and placed my ear real close to the tweeter. I was mistaken, the TWEETERS do work, I could hear some treble but it is very hard to distinguish. I also used my hand to cover the sound coming from the bottom door speaker. Thanks for all the help. Anyone confirm if you have the same prob?
