quick question...

do you guys think a t3/t4 w/ t04e 46trim and t3 .48a/r is an ok size for a 5sfe? planning for 200whp+
seems like it's about the same as a ct27?

i want a new turbo but the ct27 is kinda pricey... do you think if i go the t3/t4 route i can save a couple hundred?

t3/t4 will need a manifold adapter (if 3s manifold is used) or a custom mani. so theres an added expense. I don't know the whole list for it to be completed but the best way to compare is to get real time prices and list both setups. (ct27 vs. t3/t4)

and yes that will be a good turbo you have a 2.2L to spool it and its bigger so less psi(safer) and more CFMs (more power). good luck and RESEARCH!

not really once you figure in the cost of REAL oil lines ect.
plus any fitment issues with the adapter and how it mounts the turbo on the 5s block with relation to the tranny ect.
the right way to do that would be to have a custom exhaust manifold made, or to buy a REAL one thats made for the 3sgte, but that would kinda defeat the point of doing it cheaper.

i was planning to get an adapter with the 3s manifold... custom dp/oil lines

i dunno if anyone has ever tried this... and don't flame me for this... but has anyone used brake lines for oil lines? my friend used this for his car and it actually worked quite well... his setup was running for over a year before he sold his setup

n yea, i'm gonna try and figure out the cost of this.. but are there many others who have went this route? so i could get some benchmark pricing?

brake lines are the wrong kind of rubber, they will swell and the inner size well shrink down. just get some high PSI fuel line, it'll standup to the oil fine.

it will stand up to the oil...but can it stand the HEAT??
theres a reason toyota used all metal hardline for the oil feed ...use stainless braided line...oil lines are NOT the place to try and skimp out.

the rubber on the outside, yes its oil resistant. the rubber on the inside of the line however is not.

just get the stainless braided line. you can order it, pre-made to your specifications by ATPturbo for ~30$
