OK so my sister was looking to buy a new car and she needed one pretty quick so her options were a miti eclipse, celica or more expensive integra, well anyway i was at work and heard that she bought the celica and i was asking questions and all but the person didn't know so i was like well she is picking me up from work so ill get to see it then. She has a 95 silver St automatic with 60k i think (could be 80, don't remember) anyway she said that she paid 8 grand for it and i said she got ripped off and its not even a gt and i had to prove to her that her car wasnt just by showing her the engine code of her car. She was like well its still cool and i said ya but you paid too much. Do you think she paid to much for it?? she also bought the car from Wilde Honda i think.

I think it was on the high end of "just right". If it was a gt it would have been too low a price. I paid $9k for my 94 gt with 70K miles. With celicas, if you can find one you like, usually price is a little higher than you might expect. Check out www.kelleybluebook.com for an "official" price.

That is a high price, but it's all about getting what you want. A 94-95 ST with less than 100k will normally go for about 5-6k.

If its 60k miles and in good condition and theres no way she can return it dont make her feel too bad its not the worst deal in the world, atleast with an ST she can make some of the money up in better gas mileage. I'd say thats about the right price a dealership would charge then about 6-7000 after you haggled a bit.

If she bought it and was told it was a GT then I believe she is entitled to a sum of money.

Only if she was told that it was a GT. If she just assumed then she is at fault.

she probably paid too much unless its mint, basically you can knock off $2000 from a dealer's price. I paid $7,000 for my 94 st in 2000 with 64,000 miles. Looking back I paid too much since the car had been repainted, and their were some rust issues which were hidden by the repaint. However, if the car has no rust issues, it has low mileage, so that's a plus. I'll tell you what though since its your sister, women in general get worse deals on cars becuase car sales people take advantage, since they figure she can't negotiate. Just chalk it up to a life lesson. In the end for her, I don't think she's going to spend money upgrading her car, so not a big deal if gt or st.

ya dude dont keep telling her that she got ripped off.
that will make her feel like crap

you can always put a 4agze in there

in my opinion i would've got the integra if it was a gsr

or the eclipse if it was a gs-t or gsx.

but the celica st will be fine for a girl cuz most not all but most women are horrible drivers...so with st power she will be fine.

the reason that i say women are bad drivers is because some of them do makeup while driving or check their hair or freak out when someone cuts them off or something. so no one take offense.

lol thats funny because there is also some rust near the spoiler and some yellow paint that got scrapped on the car after some crash so she has to get that crap off as well. As for her being a driver she is one of the best women stick drivers i know. She was the one who was driving my 94 gt stick so she is hella good at it but whatever its over and done with. Time to start on my car now, going audio then who knows? money is the limit. biggrin.gif
