to pass emissions, yes. other than that, no. you'll need to do the sparkplug antifouler trick to get rid of the check engine light tho.

its an old DSM trick but it works on the 6th gen as well. you can find it on google.

legally yes, but really no. you dont need that cat or the other cat, but from a legal standpoint you would be good to hang onto them or get a flanged highflow with enough capacity for a large (5.7-6.0L) V8 to swap in if you have to go for emissions and get the sniffer.
