![]() I love my celica but I am the type of person that wants a car that is powerful and stylish enough to look and out handle and out perform any thing on the street (custom or not). And also I like the statement that it gives that is why I want to out do a ferrari 360 modena. No crap tall fast and the furious customizations please. And definitely no rice a roni (aka nos). |

You'd want a 3S-GTE engine like edo17982 said and spend a lot of money on new internals, a bigger turbo, upgraded tranny, etc. Also, you would probably need to convert your car to all wheel drive, because it's hard to get a ton of horsepower to the ground in a front wheel drive car.

There is probably a big weight difference am i right? Im sure it matters almost next to nothing considering the power they have but its nice when like I race a gt stang (4.6L) and i stay close at first because of the power to weight ratio even tho it ends up killing me cuz of the lack of torque

would it cost around the same amount of money to turn a FWD car into a RWD as it would a AWD???

With sixth generation Celicas, I'd guess that it would be easier to convert the car to AWD than RWD, since the GT-Four is AWD, and there isn't a RWD model. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

umm...
How about you do some research about your car first I would say yea that its possible you could get a nova to outperform a ferrari. I will break it down for you. Keep in mind this is for parts NOT labor. And doesnt include shipping. Front AND Rear Clips of an ST205: $4500 ship from Georgia. www.jarcoinc.com Motec 4: not sure on price but i would say $3000+ (its a stand alone engine management computer..gets rid of stock ECU) www.motec.com Blitz Turbo Upgrade : $3300. Uses KKK K3T turbo stainless steel manifold and comes with 3 inch downpipe. www.wholesalehyperformance.com Jun Stroker Kit: $5128 Ship from Japan www.takakaira.com (crankshaft, connection rods, pistons, piston rings Jun Camshaft Kit: $3200 Ship from Japan. www.takakaira.com (camshafts, cam sprockets, valves, valve retainers. Jun Valve Guides: $219 Ship from Japan. www.takakaira.com Apexi AVC-R Boost Controller: $496 www.apexi.com C-One Lightweight Aluminum Flywheel : $325.69 Ship from Japan http://www.c-one.co.jp/C-ONEPARTS/flywheel.html HKS Fuel Regulator: $124. Ship from Japan. www.takakaira.com Cusco Type OS Rear Strut Bar: $128. Ship from Japan. www.takakaira.com Tein (tane) Type HA Damper: $2,240 Ship from USA or Japan. www.tein.com Some Lightweight Rims like Volk TE-37 17 x 8.0: $575/Rim Nitton Neo Gen Tires: I would estimate $400/Tire FMIC: Around $1,000 for a decent sized one and custom mandrel piping So the Grand Total before installation, shipping, tuning, dyno runs, etc. $31,806 Not bad. I would say with shipping plus installation, tuning, dyno runs, etc. $45,000 Now if you happen to run across that much money. You would probably have the baddest car in North America. edit: i took out the noob part...and also added something about a FMIC This post has been edited by GT2GT4: Jun 29, 2003 - 11:41 PM |

*coughs* I like to input into GT2GT4's msg...Shall we all take a look?
...Ass... This site is for information, help, and people that love celicas. Not a place for you to try and act superior among others. How about trying to treat people, n00bs or vets with the same respect. Remember, you were a n00b once to. This post has been edited by Stipt: Jun 29, 2003 - 10:52 PM |

u cant outperform a ferrari 100% even wif all the mods gt2gt4 gave. i mean~~~ it's a ferrari. and if u'd give it to a magazine and tell them to test drive both cars.
first. i doubt they'll put down ferrari. second. i doubt they'll even bother comparing both third. if they do... well. we'll hab to see. in addition. if u've got nuff doe to make a celica as close as good to a ferrari. u mite juss buy one. |

i doubt that a ferrari weighs much more than a GT4. aside from that, with $45,000 your car will atleast be on par with one in terms of handling and acceloration, up until a certain point. you would need to change all the gearing in order to make a GT4 celica go as fast as most new ferraris can go(and they are crazy on top end and staying there). and then it would lose almost all of its acceloration if you want to take on a ferarri, go and buy an 87 testarossa and modify that. that car can be had for about $50k-$60k This post has been edited by 97sccelica: Jun 30, 2003 - 1:15 AM -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition

This thread almost made me laugh
![]() Come on guys this is a bit of a stilly question. The cars are designed for completely different purposes. This thread is based on what ifs. I mean I'd love to have $50k to spend on a celica, but in reality I don't think ANYONE except for a race team has/will do this. We haven't even seen an AWD conversion, let alone a project this size. I'm sure with the right resources it could be done, hell you could beat a ferrari in a go kart if you spent enough money on the go kart. Edit - The only country where big money is (or was as they are getting old) spent on celicas is in japan, but they have a head start with the AWD already.
