word from the wise....

if you "plan" for an e-manage ultimate then wait to install your setup and save until you have it....don't rush into sumthing without the right parts/all the parts buying an SAFC2 will just hurt your wallet in the long run...wait, save and buy the emanage if thats wat you really want

What about the normal e-manage, is that also better then the s-afc?
What are the benefits from the ultimate above the normal version?
Which harnesses do i need with a normal e-manage?

Sorry for the bad english.... rolleyes.gif

you know i use it lol. but yea.. after reading manny's post, i have more understanding on why the emanage ultimate is way better in having a better tuned 5sfte than the safc2. i thought ya completed your 5sfte like awhile ago? why getting the afc now? you've been driving your celi untuned all this while???

Dont use a SAFC to do a standalones job, If you're just using a SAFC to make small corrections to the stock injectors, you won't cause enough timing advance to blow the motor. It's when people try to use the SAFC to run larger injectors, and are thus removing 20% or more of the airflow signal in places, that they get into trouble.

if your not looking for big hp, safc i suppose isnt a bad idea.

i really cant stress enough how much the emanage ultimate will help if we can get it to work properly for our cars.
the rub of the emanage ultimate, is that there is no plug and play setup for the 5sfe, forget about 5sfte.
i was hoping to be the guinie pig of sorts and have what i "think" will be a correct wiring diagram, but the only thing is that untill i have the unit in my hands and in the car working, i cant say for sure.
the safc will work, just not well. period.
its like trying to build a motor with a pair of vice grips and a pipe wrench...yea, it may work, but how well?
we REALLY need some form of dynamic timing control.
the safc will not do that for us at all.
the btm is an option, but then your over 400$ if you buy both the safc and that new.
the regular emanage does not offer the timing features that the ultimate does, and IIRC does not alter the fuel injector signal the same way.

i am REALLY interested in this personally, because i am planning a 5sfte myself, and engine management is a HUGE grey area right now. i have compiled the definitive list of everything else i will need, but i have yet to see a t-n-t control option.

manny, i gather that you're no. 1 with an emanage ultimate and actually don't have it up and running yet. what is everyone with a successful 5sfte running?

...or am i to understand that none of the 5sfte's are "successfu"l until the emanage is an option b/c they're all running safc?

Not to hi-jack ur thread RZANALOGY, but has anyone used a vafc with any of the 3sg(t)e engines......i am asking, because i have read of someone using a vafc to tune his 3sge, with some positive results, and also in asking my first question, can you use the emanage to tune a 3sg(t)e to the same effect ( the effect i am talking about is tuning the ACIS, to kick in at lower RPMs on the engines that have it, since ACIS, is somewhat similar to the vtec on hondas), or would using them both in tangent be the better solution? Hmmm, i have read up on it, and it seems that it can tune vtec systems, but what about the ACIS systems on our overseas engines (3sge/3sgte)....would anyone know about this, or am i just a delusional fool. Anywho, i hope my questions dont seem too confusing or stupid....thanks...
