Hey I was just wondering because when i floor it and hit around 4500 rpm something
kicks in and my rpm gauge seems to climb faster and my car seems to pick up quicker
and there's is a sound when it kicks in also...sort of like V-Tec but its not and i was
just wondering what it was...i'd appreciate it...thanx...

im gunna say the spirit of an old japanese racer manifests itself within your engine around 4500 rpm. i mean its the only logical explanation. other than that i have no idea.

It's your fuel map, it's got a nasty hole, that's why you're unloading in 3rd. Unlengthen the injector pulse another millisecond, just tune the NOS timing, you'll run 9's.

I guess the old japanese racer manifests himself im my engine too. laugh.gif I've noticed that too im my car, but it doesn't make a noise (unless that noise is just the RPMs climbing faster). Maybe it's just something programmed into the ECU.

It is something with the ECU because this is something that sounds similar to the ECT power on automatics which controls the RPM.

Other than that you might not be keeping steady on the gas pedal and you are pushing it in more on those stomps.

Yep. I noticed the same thing! laugh.gif I was like, "Holy crap! VTEC!" on the highway. Hint hint good for rolls. wink.gif

Oh yeah, it also has something to do with our cars being DOHC.

i think the sound was your imagination running wild and the rpm meter your eyes playing tricks on you laugh.gif dont worry. i was disillusioned when i had the ST a month ago...lol

do you have a sound system hooked up? make sure everything is grounded correctly
