so i was going about 50 down the main strip of road here (just five over the speed limit...)
and this light turns yellow that im close to. i have plenty of time to go under it so i just keep on driving.
well i see this huge explorer kinda inch when the light changed to yellow for me (hes perpendicular to where i am at the same stoplight, just his light is red) and im like wtf?
and then out of nowehre he guns it. my light is still yellow and his is red! i'm going underneath mine and just nail him going 50mph... my car is FCKED . i had no idea he was actually going to just drive through a red light after being stopped at it so i didnt really slow down or anything. god i literally started crying because of my car. not because i was safe lol.
i told my parents i'd of rather had a broken leg and a good car than have a totaled car and be fine. cause hell our cars are worth like 4800 and WAY more damage than that happens. and you know what the icing on the cake is? the guy was drunk AND uninsured. how lucky am i? god i am so upset right now, i'll post pictures as soon as i can get them, but i wanna thank all of you in advance for all the help you guys have given me. i have learned so much about cars through this. thanks alot guys, i'll miss coming here.

man, I'm so sorry I was hit by a drunk about a year ago and I'm still fixing my celica. So did he hit you or did you hit him? I guess it doesn't really matter cause you can totally blame him. Get a lawyer and sue him for damages. mental and financial. Your afraid to drive now right? and that was your only way to work right? you know what I'm saying? Stand your ground! Burn him down! I hate drunk drivers, but if you work it right you WILL get paid!

i hit him, we like t-boned basically. i'm really scared about the financial status cause i mean he's uninsured... but i'll take what you said about mental damages, hell on the ride home i was so terrified. i mean you shouldnt have to be scared that someone will just randomly run a red light at you...
thanks man, if i get enough i might buy another celica if i can find one at least. or just wait a couple more months till im 18 and buy a WRX STI

yeah that's why you have to sue him because he doesn't have insurance. He's got something... a house maybe?
Drunks are idiots, the guy that hit me was in a lifted Jeep and was driving in front of me then swerved to the shoulder, cut back into me trying to do a U turn. Then after he crushed the front of my car he tried to run so I had to drive and chase him! MAN he was lucky the cops were right there I was gonna F*%K him up!

Glad your OK, but since he ruined your Celica you have to take legal action. He doesn't have an insurance company, so you have to get a lawyer and sue HIM personally.

He should also lose his license for at least 1 year for driving without insurance, and he should get jailtime for driving drunk.

Was he arrested at the scene? Was he given any tickets? Make sure you have all the officers information, so you can contact him for the drunks information.

oh man thats so lame he's uninsured!!!

A few years ago we had like an old Nissan Z, dont know what year it was but it was in great shape. We had it parked on the street, and a drunk ran into it. He was uninsured aswell...

we got nothing out of it except a completely destroyed car...

well the front end is completely ruined, and the front two fenders. everything else is ok, except for the side panel behind the drivers door, i kicked that when i got out of my car and busted it lol. he was arrested on the scene thank god , i spat on his car as it was getting put on the wrecker lol. but my insurance apparently covers uninsured drivers, however i still wanna sue him caues im not getting the money back that i put into her ...i hate how we have such a low blue book value.
