Seen it, this is where they actually prefer a FORD over the Toyota.
I personally believe the main reason is because that gorilla of a man Jeremy Clarkson couldn't fit in the GT-4. I'm like 6'0 and 200 pounds and I fit fine, it's a little cramped in the back seat, but what do you expect for a 2 door? This post has been edited by sinner96ST: Oct 4, 2006 - 8:51 PM |

lagos posted this not too long ago. seems a bit biased against toyota, but the cosworth doesnt sound halfbad at all.

I think the guys a flat out idiot.
The ford looks like a friggin' Horizon. not to mention the fact its a ford. i mean, would you really want something made by the same people who made the...ugh...mustang. -------------------- Cuz Thats How Us Country Boyz Roll Growing up racing motocross, i learned one thing..."Always wear clean underwear, you never know when the Paramedics are gonna have to cut your pants off of you" |

You get what you pay for, Jeremy Clarkson.
That GT-Four will be a rock-solid vehicle for decades, and if I had to guess I'd say it would be hard for the Cosworth to match that sort of reputation, let alone the inherent sleekness found in a Celica. "In the past I've looked foward to driving a Toyota like I look foward to going to the dentist....." Has this guy never driven an MR2? Celica? Corrolla GTS? Supra?? I don't know what Toyotas he's been driving, but I think he must be dead not to have fun in those cars. -------------------- 3rd gen ST205 3SGTE - Alive and boosting. |

I personnally would choose the celica over the cosworth, but over here in the uk the cosworth engine and drivetrain is proven to be the better basis for motorsport, at events which consist of more than straight line drags the cosworths pretty much walk all over everything else, its only recently that the subaru's and mitsu evo's are starting to take over the mantle of king of the 4wd turbo's, for track and rally events nobody bar a few mad men use gt-fours, and usually they have to go home with a broken transfer box. In motorsport they rip out the interior so dont care about ford build quality , for a road car i'd have the celica everytime

believe it or not.. the for cosworth is a great car. We don't get it in the USA though; that is why everyone looks down on ford cars for performance.

I'm like 6'4" and I fit fine... well I almost lay down but who cares. The cosworth is pretty sick, I've seen videos of one running with a Surpra in Stockholm. I think they were both about 500hp. And the coswoth was stupid fast. Of course the Celica looks better, but the cosworth is closer in performance to the Ford GT than the mustang. I have them saved on my CPU how do I post them on here?

I would take the Escort. I love ugly fast cars. The Celica was bought for it's reliability, and it drives me nuts. It's been awhile since I've been good and mad about how slow my car is, especially in comparision to actual sports cars. I was actually starting to like the little booger. The Celica, even with a turbo, is not going to give you the performance you can get from one of those. And that's a really sad thing. Oh well, I'll still keep trying to make the Celica fast. I think it's funny how much a smack in the face that is to 3sgte guys. If I had one of those, I would be happy and feel fast, but knowing that an Escort could beat me in a drag would just tear my heart up.
