yeah they are the same car. i also think it was also sold as the hatchback echo in canada?

my brother just got a Yaris S sedan... which does look pretty nice (slow beans). I don't like the hatchback though...

im considering buying one.....i could use an econo box.(40mpg ftw!!)

when you put them side by side, the corolla is a better deal. the yaris BASE is cheaper, but once you add in the same options that the corolla base comes with, they end up being nearly equal in cost. the corolla has a peppier engine, the same or better mpg, is bigger inside, has more aftermarket.
