If you are in the HID group buy, and you purchased the H1 for the JDM headlights, the first thing you'll notice is that the HID bulb does NOT fit into the black housing (socket) from the original bulb.
Second is the bulb (the glass part) does NOT fit through the space. Any help is greatly appreciated. -------------------- |

can you doble check that the bulb is a H1. Maybe the company made a mistake when they sent you your kit and it's not a H1.

Oh man I got H1 also and mine looks just like the one in the pic. I don't have my projectors yet to test fit them so I hope we can resolve this before my projectors arrive.

If you are VERY careful, it will go in. keep in mind, there are pegs on the base of the bulb, and they have to go a certain way. i BELIEVE that the rounded side of the bulb's base goes toward the inside of the engine bay, and the flat side faces toward the fender. The acrylic rod should be on the bottom. If you VERY gently rock the bulb, it will slide through, and then just be very very careful after that. As far as the base, I was confused about this too, but you do not need the "adaptor" that the normal halogen H1s go into. Just slide the bulb all the way in, and then clamp it into place with the small metal clamp. Then, personally, I slid the other washers and what not all the way up to the bulb, and then put on the rubber boot that goes on the backside of the projector housing. As far as there being two H1 types, I believe I have the other, as my HIDs have opaque "washers" around them, and the acrylic rods are white, instead of blue. If anyone needs anything else, feel free to PM, IM, or email me. -John- -------------------- |

trying to help you out here... found a few picture of H1 bulbs. It does appear that there is only one standard bulb type for H1. So looking at your pictures.... im wondering Cant that white plastic around the cord do the job of the spider like clamp ? And as for the bulb not fitting... if you have rotated it every way and it will not fit... perhaps enlarge the hole with... a drill of some sort .... or a better method

I did read the "h1 issue" thread, and it didnt seem like there was an "absolute" solution...
Will try what Lew posted and see if that works! |
