So I need to replace the roof on my black ST coupe, (check my profile for details) and I was wondering if anyone has done this type of body work before. The hood and front fenders are easy enough to replace but the roof will need to be replaced. I know how to weld and after reading the post about coomers yelli celi I can get the paint done as well. But I was curious if anyone knows how difficult a job it is going to be, should I just take it to a shop and let them deal with it, or try and do it myself?

Well I thought about making it into a Convertable but the area where the roof meets the windshield is pushed back to my sunroof and my supports that run down to the front fenders are also creased. So I thought it was beyond saving. kindasad.gif But I would like to try the Targa route, that might look pretty cool. I dont think I have seen a Targa Celi. tongue.gif

yeah its been discussed before but i don't think its been done.. but youd have to do a lot of re-enforcing but if you are fixing it anyways i'd say try it.. i've always wanted targa!

Honestly I think that would need some major work to get it fixed/replaced. IMO not worth it, looks totaled to me.

anyway, chop the whole thing off and go ROADSTER !!!!! biggrin.gif

lets put it this way, parting your car out and adding to it the money you would have spent on fixing that roof could have gotten you another 6th gen.

well I thought I would give it a shot, but your probably right. I should just stick with my original plan and pull the engine and part out the rest.
