Convertible Body Drain Plug Plugged... Options

Hi all. I did a search on this and couldn't come up with anything, so I thought I'd ask...
I've got a 96 Vert, and when it rains, water pools on the driver's side - not inside the car where it would get the carpet wet, but somewhere inside the body. I can't see anything inside the car get wet, but I can hear it sloshing around when I drive, and if I undo my headliner near the back seat on the driver's side, I can peek down in and see some water. My guess is that there's a drain plug that has gotten clogged with something. I got underneath the car and looked, but couldn't see anything. Does anyone know the location of this drain hole that I suspect is plugged?

lol i dont know if our cars have a draining system.

i kno on my vert, one of the weather strips thingy's that keep the water out of the body or window or whatever is missing. and i dont hear any water slushing around. maybe u do have a drain thingy and its clogged, ill check on mine see what i find.

i know what your talkin about... there is a drainage like system thing going on in converts... its like located in the back near the trunk/back seat range.

I live in an area it where it rains like a crapload and when I stop after its been raining there's a sloshing sound of water pouring out of the car

i know exactly what your talking about, but I dont know how to get to it.

Only drain plug ive seen is in the spare tire area

Your in luck bro, I had to replace my frame, so i know the top pretty well. Inside where the top tucks into the body, theres a plastic channel that goes all the way around the top(on the inside of your car) and drains to the sides by the rear windows. Its purpose is to collect any water that goes through the tops bottom and
drain it out. theres a piece of vinyl that covers where the back seat is. its held in place by a bunch of nuts.
thats where your water is collecting. Remove it, clean it, then get into the plastic channel and make sure water can flow and its not clogged.

I thought initially that was where it was collecting too - first place I checked.
I replaced the top myself a few months ago and am a little too intimately acquainted with that plastic channel and the big vinyl water collecting bowl underneath the rear window. The plastic channel routes the water somewhere into the body underneath the little side window (and then outside the car). The water runs the course of the channel, then collects insode the body and sloshes. It only does it on the driver's side, so I figure whatever body drain hole there is must be plugged with junk - I just dn't know where it is to unplug it.

theres no plug (as far as i know), the drains underneath the sideskirts allow for the water to come out of the channel. if it doesnt come out it backs up into the sidepanel where it flows out under the seat.

i took off the sidepanel and used an air compressor to blow air up into the holes to free up w/e is in there. since i did it, i havent had a leak in a long time and i cant hear water in the panel either.

yeah i pulled it, it helps to see inside aaaand access w/e is in there. It also helps if you need to wetvac the water out.
